Atlanta school children kept olio eye on the clock and the other on Christ mas shopping lists all through today's session, and there wasn't an eye left for lessons. Nobody could have expect ed a boy or girl to think about the boundaries of North Dakota or the number of times one can insert 12 l-_ into 97 without any left-overs when Christmas day is only a few days ahead. Dec. 20.—Lowndes county’s new $40,000 jail was formally accepted ami (he county prisoners moved int<» it today. The prison is a thoroughly modern structure, with accommodations fur about eighty prisoners, and is practi cally non-breakable. Severe tests were made with hardened saws on the steel bars forming the cells. Deputy Sheriff F’axrish secured a hand full <»f finely tempered back-saws and was given full license by the contractors and architect to saw any of the bars. The deputy worked industriously, but after ruining all of his saws with no effect on the bars, he gave It up as a bad job The new jail is pronounced one of the best lighted and best ventilated prisons in the state 'ARCHBALD TO TAKE STAND IN DEFENSE AT SESSION ON JAN. 3 I WASHINGTON, Dec. 20.—Six more wit nesses will be called by the defense in , the impeachment proceedings of Judge Robert W.
