4 SCHOOL'S OUT! TO “TAKE IN" JAN. ? Vacation Is One of Longest on Record. Owing to Highly Popular Calendar. Atlanta school children kept one eyo on the clock and the other on Christ mas shopping lists all through today’s session, and there wasn't an eye left for lessons. Nobody could have expect ed a boy or girl to think about the boundaries of North Dakota or the number of times one can insert 12 1-2 into 97 without any left-overs when Christmas day is only a few days ahead. This was the last day of school for two weeks. The report was circulated at the Da vis Street school that in futu there wouldn’t be any last day. Johnny Duf fy brought in a rumor that Superin tendent Slaton, having observed how ■ little work was done on the last ’day. had decided to make that also a holiday I in future. No official verification of the i rumor has been given out. School will not “take hi" again until j January 2, the day after New Year, and i the vacation this season is one of the I longest on record. It happened that J way because the calendar happened ' that way. Christmas comes next Wed- | neseiay. as everybody more than a year , old knows. And even the board of ed ucation knew there wouldn't be the slightest use in having school on Mon- ‘ day and Tuesday, with the teachers all j having their minds on presents for the I sweethearts— and from them—and neg- i lecting the pupils who would ;>•, study ing so hard and so anxious to. recite. So the board anil Mr. Slaton decided to scratch off all the days betwet n 'today and the day after New Year’s lira! let. everybody have u good time. e FORGETFUL MAN SLEEPS IN ANOTHER'S APARTMENT NEW YORK, Dec. 20. “In u lit of for- ; getfulneNM** William I'redericks entered • th»- wrong apartment :<n<i was arrested | after being diHcovered asleep in bed by the occupant of the Hat “THE GRAFTER” MAKES BIG HIT AT THE EVER POPULAR BONITA t'ne best popular priced chow in town this week is "The Grafter,” a rollicking musical comedy, which is being pre sented at the Bonita theater, 32 Peach tree street, by the Allen & Kenna Mu sical Comedy company.
