You Will Find It if You Read these “Want Ads” Witness Says Banker Who At tacked Representative Yearned for Dueling Law. WASHINGTON, April 22.- The se lect committee appointed by the Hous eto-day began its investigation to determine whether Charles C. Glover, the Washington banker, shall be punished for contempt of the House for attacking Representative Sims, of Tennessee, last Friday. The most interesting testimony was given by Representative Ben John son, of Kentucky, who said Glover told him that he (Glover) regretted the laws did not permit dueling in this country. "Glover told me," testified Johnson, “that if it were not for the laws he would chaJtenge Mr. Sims to a duel on account of things Sims had said about him on the floor of the House.” Representative Sims testified that when he was accosted by Glover in Uarragut Square last week Glover “had an insane expression in his eyes with a bluish color on the face.” Sims said he recalled only one blbw, but that Glover might have struck him twice. Glover was not present, but sent a letter, the contents of which were withheld by the committee. It is understood that Glover makes a par tial apology to the House, saying that he acted without premeditation. Glover, however, is said to challenge the jurisdiction of the House to try him. Boy Runaway Makes Bargain With Chief No More Whippings at Home and There Will Be No More Fairy Stories Told. Elgin-year-old Theodore Roosevelt Henry, who is back to-day in the Southern Christian Home in Lee Street, entered into a contract with Police Chief Beavers that equals in ihrewdness his imaginative story of having been kidnaped in Macon by a negro and brought to Atlanta on top of a freight train. The little fellow, after confessing that the story of his “thrilling ride” was a fairy tale, in a pleading tone, said to the chief: "Mr. Chief, please don't let them whip me at the home.” “I’ll do that for you If you’ll prom ise never to run away again and not tell any more stories,” replied the chief. “I’ll sure promise," said the little •hap with a smile. And the chief made good. ALABAMA BANKERS MEET AT DOTHAN ON MAY 9TH DOTH AX, ALA.. April 22.—The Alabama Bankers' Association meets in annual session in Dothan May 8, 9 and 10.
