Definite steps have been taken in the direction of acquiring the Brook- haven Club property, on Peachtree Road, for the country home of the Capital City Club. The Capital Club will hold Its annual meeting Monday night at 8 o'clock to consider this and other propositions. In a letter sent out it is stated that notices have been posted for thirty days that a proposition will be sub mitted to lease the Brookhaven Club property, with option to purchase, and also a motion to increase the membership, with reduced initiation fee for a limited period." The notice is signed by Robert F. Maddox, president, and Edward R. Austin, secretary and treasurer. Be cause of the importance of this pro ject a full attendance is expected. A lease on the Brookhaven Club . for three years will be offered the Capital City, and, if It is accepted, the club will undoubtedly buy within I the time limit. This proposition was put forward some weeks ago. and it is understood that final action will probably be taken. The Brookhaven estates will present the plan. Capital City club men have long wanted a golf course and country club of their own. and there is a good deal of belief that they will vote to take charge of the other club's course, spacious grounds, lake and handsome clubhouse.
