For the second thru the headquarters «»f the Wom en's Social and Political Union in Kings Way were raided. The raid was a spectacular on#*, taking place at noon when the streets were crowded. Th«* police drove out the occupants and allowed none to enter, while de tective.- searched the organization’s letter file* anil desks. Five leading members of the union, the Misses (’air. Lecox, Barrett and Lake and Mrs. Saunders, were ar rested >n a charge of malicious de- Htnn tlon of property and taken to the Bow Street police station. Gregory, of Atlanta, a postoffice In spector. was here to-day in confer ence with the District Attorney with reference to the escape of “Portland Ned.” a paroled convict, from Gov ernor Bleaae’s office last week. Gregory’ bad not heard of the es cape until he reached Seneca to-day. He left Anderson this afternoon to trail the man. Gregory landed “Port land Nod" in the Nolan 'McKinley gang some years ago. He is now wanted on a charge of robbing a post- office. San Francisco Gives Bryan Big Welcome Secretary of State Views Site of Panama Exposition and Reviews Presidio Troops.
