For the second firm* the headquarter* of the Wom en Social and Political Union in Kings Way were raided. The raid was a spe* tat ular one. taking place at boon, when the streets were crowded. Friends of Daniels to Rebuild His Plant Stock Company Organized at Raleigh to Aid Newspaper Hard Hit by Recent Fire. RALEIGH, N. C\, April 30.— Secre tary of the Navy Daniels has return ed "* Washington, after arranging fo* immediately rebuilding his de stroyed News and observer plant. The loss was- 5-100 000 and Insurance small. A movement has been begun by which several hundred of Daniels’ friends raised money for construc tion work. Each takes $100 in stock upon w hich a subscription to the pa per will he the annual dividend. Dan iels later may buy the stock and will hold the majority shares. San Francisco Gives Bryan Big Welcome Secretary of State Views Site of Panama Exposition and Reviews Presidio Troops. SAN FRANCISCO. April 30.- This city paid its respects to Secre- tar> of State William Jennings Bryan when he arrived here to-day from Sacramento. A large crowd greeted Mr. Bryan at the depot. A luncheon in his honor was given by President Moore and other officials of the Panama Pacific Exposition. Later he was taken on a motor trip through Golden Gate Park and at Fort Blaney a troop of cavalry met him and escorted him to the old review grounds in Presidio, where all the troops turned out to meet him. Later Mr Bryan vieited the exposi tion grounds. He will return to Sac ramento to-morrow.
