I Builders of Atlanta Peachtree St. Sale Involves $87,000 Mitchell Motor Car Building—Peach tree Road Lot Brings $10,000. Other Notes. Interest in local realty circles cen tered to-day around a sale by R. L. Turman, of the Turman, Black & Cal houn agency, of the property occu pied by the Mitchell .Motor Car Com pany, at 316 and 318 Peachtree, for $87,000. The buyer was Mrs. Louis J. Trounstine, and the seller A. F. Jones, of Bibb County. This was the last purchase Mrs. Trounstine made be fore sailing this week with her fam ily for Europe. The lot is 50x150 feet and holds a two-story brick building, which rents for $1,500 a year. There are three years of the present lease to run, and the motor car company has an option to continue the lease at the end of that time, though at a higher rental. The property is on the west j side of the street, between Baker I and Ivy Streets. It was formerly used 1 for residence purposes, like several houses which still siand in this block. Louis J. Trounstine was the pur chaser a short time ago of a valuable parcel on Decatur Street, details of which have been announced. Peachtree Road Sale. Mrs. Mabel H. Moody has sold, through the Burdett Realty Company, to Kenneth C. McRae a large resi dence lot on Peach,tree Road, 200 feet northeast of Piedmont Road, for $10,- 000. This is lot No. 7 of the county almshouse property, and is in a neigh borhood of tine homes recently built. Growth in Building. Some healthy signs are seen in fler- ures for the seventeenth week of 1913 as presented by The Fulton County Daily Report in contrast to the figures for the corresponding week in 191?. There were 11 more cancellations this year, involving nearly $40,000 more, and over $28,000 more in building. Building permits numbered 67 and to taled $100,814, while the number last year was 51 and the total only $72,301. Real estate transfers fell back 6 in number and over $100,000 in amount, but the real estate men declare the good weather of the nresent will soon reverse the figures. Peachtree Auction Sale. Buyers of lots in Peachtree Heights, the E. Rivers subdivision, just north of Peachtree Creek, are congratulat ing themselves to-day on having ac quire some genuine bargains. Twen ty-four lots offered yesterday after noon by Auctioner Steve R. Johnston brought a total of $43,609, or an aver age of $1,813 a lot. The lots were large, none less than 60 feet frontage. Among prominent ctizens presgr^ were Robert F. Maddox, Walter P~ Andrews, Charles E. Caverly, J. R. Gray, H. H. Cabaniss and E. R. Du-. Bose, and among the real estate agencies represented were the Edwin P. Ansley Company, B. M. Grant & Co., the Charles P. Glover Agency, W. A. Foster & Raymond Robson, M. F. Jennie L. Chapman, through the Roff Sims Real Estate Agency, 457 White hall Street, 67x200 feet to the railroad, for $23,000, or at the rate of $344 a front foot. This property is on the north side of the street between Mc Daniel and Humphries Streets. vy Street Work Progressing. Good progress has been made this week on the Ivy Street regrading work. At the point of the greatest fill, between Baker and Peachtree Streets, hundreds of cubic yards of earth have been put in, until the av- • rage depth is some four or five feet. Peachtree’s New Paving. The county convicts are making fast work of Peachtree repaving be tween Sixth and Fifteenth Streets. The work started at Sixth Street and has progressed northward nearly to Eleventh Street, where the top layer of paving Is yet to be laid. The new paving looks good, and automobilists are already using a part of it. Com ing back, the convicts will start at Fifteenth Street. The space between i he car t racks has not bt*on touched. Where Is Mr. Babbage? Realty prospects who went to the Candler building to-day to see John D. (“Ask Mr.”) Babbage were sur prised to find that he had moved his real estate offices. They were greet ed with a sign on the door which read “Ask Mr. Babbage.” Sofhe found him on the street and he told them that he had gone to the second floor of the McKenzie Building, southwest corner of Peachtree and James Streets. Mr. Babbage is preparing to add several salesmen to take care of .his increasing business. He declares that advertising did it. T. B.
