Whitehall Street Grade.
Although some objection lias b-on
encountered to the proposed change
• of grade in Whitehall Street from
Mitchell to Forsyth Streets, property
owners are hoping that this can be

are sdid to* object on the ground that
the improvement wouki injure their
property', but those who favor the
1 work contend that this damage would
I be slight when compared with the
benefits. Charles H. Black outlined
the case yesterday and presented
waivers for damrp.es. The committee
will meet again next Friday to con
tinue trie discussion. Mr. Black stal
l'd that some big improvements are
contemplated with regrading. These
j may not be made unless the work
|goes ahead.
