Interest in local real estate circles centered largely to-day around pub lic sales before the court house door. A large crowd attended and the bidding was lively. The Brookhaven Club property was sold to perfect a tMle in the Brookhaven estates; two (lots on Decatur Street of the Joseph E- Brown estate were sold; certain properties of Moise DeLeon on South Forsyth and Whitehall Streets changed hands; seventeen lots on West Fourteenth and State Streets went to bidders, and a well-known real estate man bought a Carnegie yVay lot of the Lagomarsino estate. The Brookhaven estates, holders of $80,000 worth of bonds in the Brook haven Club on Peachtree Road, bought in the Brookhaven property for $90,000—$88,000 for the land and building and $2,000 for the furnish ings. Charles P. Glover, president of the Brookhaven estates, and Ivan E. Allen, vice president, represented the corporation. The sale was made in order to clear the way for a con templated sale to the Capital City Club for $110,000. There are $80,000 worth of improvements on the prop erty, the road frontage is some 0.000 feet and there are about 150 acres estimated at approximately $500 an acre. A. J. and H. F. West sold 35 and 37 Decatur Street, 50 by 100 feet, for Governor Joseph M. Brown to J. J. Haverty and A. G. Rhodes for $70,000, and the following lots on West Four-' teenth and State Streets, in the W. B. v B. Richards estate, for a total of about $12,000. Auctioneer J. W. Ferguson and S. B. Turman sold a $5,000 equity in the Guthman property on Whitehall Street, between West Fair and Broth erton Streets, to Dr. W. J. Blalock for $1,500, making the price 831,500. This lot was formerly held by Moise DeLeon under bond for title. It fronts 107.5 feet on Whitehall and 52.33 on Forsyth. E. M. Mitchell bought for Joseph Loewus a one-third interest in the equity of the other DeLeon parcel at the northwest corner of South Forsyth and Castleberry Streets for $1,950. This lot is <6.6 feet on Forsyth and 70 on Castleber ry. There were several other small sales. Bell Apartments Resold. The Charles P. Glover Realty Com pany sold to-day* for the Corinthian Company to the Realty Mortgage Company the Bell apartments at the Southwest cornier of Ponce DeLeon > Avenue and North Boulevard for $65.- oOO. This property has changed hands several times of late. Brookhaven Transfer To-day? A report this afternoon hadjt that at a final conference the Capital City Club property committee would close up the deal for the Brookhaven Club, a. proposition having been submitted some time ago by the Brookhavt-n Estates. The site is wanted by the » ’apital City for a country club. The Brookhaven property was sold this morning so that the title might be dearlv in the Brookhaven Estates. Progress of Peachtree Work. The county convicts have practical ly finished digging up the old asphalt <in the right-hand side of Peachtree and will start at once on the opposite side of the. thoroughfare, going soutn. They were working north of Four teenth Street this morning. A sep arate gang is following close behind with rock, bindef. etc., and the street will soon be good for traffic between Sixth and Fifteenth Streets. Healey Building Delayed. Two monster derricks, intended o lift steel girders into "lace on the Healey Building site, have not yet come from the manufacturers, and the work has been held up now some two weeks. The daily loss to Mr. Healey is Considerable, since the job has not been pushed following the completion of foundation work. Enough steel is already on hand, but the derricks have upset calculations.
