The Capital City Club will lease the Brookhaven Club for country club purposes, and affairs are such that possession can be had not later than June 1. This announcement was made from an official source today. The original proposition put by the Brookhaven estate was to lease the club for three years at $100 a month and give an option to purchase at $110,000, the option to be exercised at any time. The Capital City com mittee came back with a proposition which has enabled them to secure sev eral concessions on the part of the Brookhaven Estates, which puts the two traders together. Ther e are sjLill a few details whicli must be adjusted before the Capital City can come into possession of the property as lessee or buyer. These can be disposed of within a week, it is said, and then the city club can have its country home. A rearrangement of things at Brookhaven will of course have to be made in the meantime. The Capital City \\ ill have the club house thor oughly cleaned and WilL probably put in some new furniture and make some changes in structure. The golf links, the lake, the boats and other accessories will probably be given Immediate attention. The committee of the Brookhaven Estates is composed of Charles P. Glover and Ivan E. Allen, and the Capital City Club committee is made up of Robert F. Maddox, John E. Mur phy, Preston S. Arkwright, Edward H. Inman, Madison Bell, Dr. W. S. Elkin, J. J. Spalding and YV. G. Hum phries. Ansley Park Apartment. The first apartment house in Ans ley Park has been started at 75 and 81 East Seventeenth Street, to cost $25,000. A building permit was asked to-day at Building Inspector Hays office by the owners, Misses Mary E and Barbara Lambdin. The structure will be two stories and of brick. John Starr asked for a permit t( build two one-story frame dwellings- on Iverson Street, to cost $2,000 each, and Mrs. Louie Johnson will build a cottage at 41 Hunt Street, to cost $1,000. Mr. Ewing’s Large Frontage. The purchase of the Lagomarsino parcel by J. H. Ewing yesterday be fore- the courthouse door gives Mr. Ewing a total ,frontage of over 200 feet on Carnegie Way. The Lagomar sino property sold for $54,000, on terms of $20,000 cash. All this prop erty is just west of Asa G. Candler’s extensive holdings on Peachtree. Changing Imperial Front. The Imperial Hotel, at the junction of Peachtree and Jvy Streets, is soon to have an attractive new entrance. Workmen are tearing away the brick at the top of the first floor and will replace it with s-tone, at a cost of about $500. Great Activity in Building. A good indication of prosperity, de clare real estate men, is the number of homes being built around Atlanta. Some time ago a well-posted dealer asserted that during 1913 at least I, 500 new residences would be built, and maybe 2,000. He now thinks the number will be nearer 3,000. A trip around the city is sufficient to demon strate this activity. In Ansley Park, for instance, about 15 new and hand some homes are under construction. W. J. Stoddard’s new home is com pleted on Piedmont Road, between Peachtree Road and the Roswell Road and a citizen is building on the Ivy Road just north of Mr, Stoddard. This latter house is 1o be of stone and brick. There are several houses going up in the neighborhood of Rock Springs, on Piedmont Road. Several more are building between the hand some residences on Peachtree north of Fourteenth Street. Ground was broken the other day at the Northeast corner of West Peachtree and Twelfth Streets. This lot is one of the prettiest on West Peachtree and has been held many years without improvements.
