Meetings at City Hall.
People who are working for a re
grade of Whitehall and West Peach
tree Streets are meeting this after
noon with the streets committee of
Council at the City Flail, to urge im
provements on their thoroughfares.
The Whitehall Street matter is ex
pected to be settled at this confer
ence, and the West Peachtree ques
tion will be taken up later.
Foundry Street Purchase.
Mrs. Bertha Kline has bought
through J. H. Ewing, of the Smith
& Ewing real estate agency, a 40 by
100 foot lot on Foundry' Street, be
tween Elliott and Mangum Streets,

Sale on Piedmont Road.
Deeds have gone to record in the
sale March 6 of a large building lot at
the northwest comer of Piedmont and
Ivy Roads, from Claude E. Buchanan
to Wesley Hirshburg, for $6,875. This
lot is west of the William J. Stoddard
place and In the neighborhood of other
fine residences.

Road Work at Buckhead.
County convicts are working fast
to complete improvements on Peach-

when the Capital City Club takes ,

haven. The right-hand side of Peach- I
tree Road, starting at Buckhead, has
been macudamized nearly as far north
as W. S. Witham’s estate, and only
awaits the steam roller to be put in
good shape. Space between the car
tracks has been taken on this north
ward trudge of the convicts. The
work will proceed to the DeKalb
County line and then the gang will
turn back toward Buckhead.
County Commissioners are well sat
isfied with the work and predict that
Peachtree Road will be in very good
shape when Capital City golfers take
their sticks to Brookhaven.

of the single owner blocked the pro

taken up the matter again, and he
expresses confidence in the outcome.
Mb. Luckies idea is to lay out the
Roswell Road so that whenever the
demand is great enough on the part
of the people along the route, a car
line can be built to Roswell. Either
this or the street car company can
leave the wide thoroughfare to ve
hicular traffic and establish a private
right-of-way close by.
