Big Building Permits.
Important in to-day's real estate
news was the announcement that $22,-
180 in business lots had been sold at
Buckhead and that improvements In
volving approximately $50,000 would
be made in the near future.
John G. Burkhardt. has bought,
through the George P. Moore Real Es-
/ Late Agency, from the L. S. Huntley
t ompany the narrow point at the in
tersection of the Peachtree and Ros
well Roads, for $12,500, and will be
gin immediately the erection of a sub
stantia! two-story brick business
building. The lot is 152 feet on Peach
tree and the same frontage on Ros-
y well, and the front foot price was ac-
J t'ordingly a little more than $82. fig
ured by either single frontage.
J. L. Riley has bought three lots to
the north of the above triangle, an ag
gregate of 78 feet on Peachtree and 75
cn Roswell, for $5,050, and will erect
a store and garage. Figured by the
Peachtree frontage, this piece brought
a little less than $65 a front foot.
The next two lots to the north were
bought by the Fulton Finance Com
pany as an investment, for a total of
$3,380, or at the rate of $65 a front
foot. These have a combined front
age of 52 feet on Peachtree and 50
feet on Roswell, with 143 feet through
from road to road.
D. H. Lopez bought a triangular
strip of 38 feet on Peachtree and 87
feet back for $1,250. He also bought
for speculation.
All of the above parcels were In the
Huntley subdivision and were sold by
the Moore Agency from a total of 14
lots, several remaining unsold. The.
contemplated improvements are ex
pected to mean much to Buckhead,
since this point serves people travel
ing to and from five counties.

The Greene Realty Company an
nounced to-day the sale of the dou-
ple apartment house at the south
west corner of Spring and Alexander
' Streets. 52x100, for James Gillespie
/ to a client for $12,500; of three
houses and a large lot at 223 East
Fair Street, for $5,700, to Joe BaJzer,
for the Adler estate, and of 680 Glenn
Street, house and lot, to F. A. New
port for J. K. Shippey, for $2,750.

Construction Permits.
A permit was filed to-day with
Building Inspector Ed R. Hays for
the erection of he S. S. Selig, Jr.,
hree-sory aparmen house at 424
Washington Street, at a cost of $30,-
000. The Gresham Contracting Com
pany, of Griffin, is busy preparing
the plans.
Permits were also asked to erect
three huge electric signs. The Ja
cobs' Pharmacy Company will raise
a 75xl0-foot sign at its Marietta
Street store at a, cost of $1,200; the
Hotel Ansley will put a sign over its
clay & Br/vhdon Company will raise
marquise / to cost $310, and the Bar-
a sign at the southwest corner of
, Baker and Ivy Streets to cost $750.
Woodside Home Finished.
Colonel John J. Woodside’s country
house on the east side of Peachtree
Road, just north of Buckhead, is com
pleted. and Colonel Woodside and
family moved in this week for the
summer months. The house is of two
stories and is unique in that it con
tains only two rooms. The upper
room and porches are used for sleep
ing purposes, and the downstairs
room is the reception room, parlor, li
brary and ball room all in one. Wide

t , house. The lot is 400 by 1.300 feet
and cost approximately $21,000, or
$53 a front foot.
Rushing Peachtree Work.
Peachtree paving on the east side
of the street has been completed from
Sixth to Fifteenth Street, and yes
terday the county convicts turned
l hack to Sixth Street and are again on
the way to Fifteenth, this time on the
■ west side of the thoroughfare. This
id has been one of the fastest jobs the
/ county has undertaken, and the Coun
tv Commissioners have heard many
expressions of appreciation from
Peachtree residents and the automo-
biling public generally.
Convicts on Piedmont Road.
A detachment of county convicts la
busy clearing up Piedmont Road (for
merly Plaster Bridge Road) at its
intersection with the Roswell Road.
The gang has a steam roller at this
point In three or four days the job
wi 1 be completed, and the grading
corps of the convict camp is expect
ed to begin working-out some dirt
roads in the, vicinity. The camp is
Pirated this year on Bell Brothers
and McCullough Brothers' Property,
between the Roswell Road and Peach
tree Road, and south of the Meiauca
Road.
