Some fifteen years ago this farm vv as established by William Barry Owen, of Victor Talking Machine fame He started out with the idea that it was to be a strict business proposition from start to finish, and no stone was to be left unturned that might work for the betterment of the deal. With this end in view, he secured I he services of Maurice F. Delano as manager. In making this selection hr certainly showed his remarkable judgment, for w-e do not believe he could have found a better man if he had tried all the leading poultrymen of this country. It is not every manager of a farm uf this character that is able to put ip such a guarantee of quality and know what he is talking about, for there are but a very few who art- such expert Judges of the stock they breed as is Mr. Delano He is not only a Judge of stock anil is able to make expert selections for the show 100m and the fine breeding yard, but he is up to the snuff when It comes to Hitting the stock in condition for thi show room. It always looks like it had just stepped out of a bandbox. Specialties ot Farm. The specialties of this farm have been Buff. White and Black Orping tons, White Wyandot ti-H, White Plymouth Rocks, and at times a few others of the leading varieties, but those have had the principal atten tion and have been their leaders, Mr Owen took up the breeding of fine poultry as a pastime feature suited to a retired business man as he was. But the business grew from year to year way beyond his fondest expects thins, and has finally come to the place where he’ finds it mere of a business than he bargained for, hence his desire to sell and tak$ a real rest.
