This concern has sold to clients four parcels aggregating $32,720. at an average front foot rate of nearly $155. One of the new owners has plans for a bank build ing which will be intended to serve the 25.000 people who dally cross the Bellwood viaduct, and the city is fig uring on a location at that point for a fire engine houra to cost not less than $25,000. At a meeting Thursday afternoon the Capital City Club property com mittee voted to adopt the proposition of Charles P. Glover and others for the downtown club to take over the Brookhaven Country Club. The price waj* fixed at $100,000, to be re tired through 5 per cent bonds. The immediate arrangement, however, is for the Capital City to lease the Brookhaven Club for a year at $100 a month, and to buy within the suc ceeding two years. Possession can be had in two weeks and the Capital City is expected to make some sub stantial improvements. The Capital City voted some time ago to reduce its initiation fee for 90 days from 1100 to $50 and to in crease the membership from 700 to 800 members. Although quite a num ber of the members of the old Brook haven Club are expected to become members of the Capital City, there is no obligation on the latter under the lease and option agreement. Charles P. Glover declared that it would be to the advantage of the Brookhaven estates for the club prop erty to revert to the corporation aft er a year, although he did not antic ipate that hte Capital City would not find it profitable to exercise the op tion.
