On Marietta Street
Four Parcels Net $32,720—Capital
City to Invade Brookhaven.
Deeds to Record.
Marietta Street activity, between
Ponder" Avenue and Bellwood Ave
nue, was reflected in announcements
Friday by Ware & Harper, the busi
ness brokers. This concern has sold
to clients four parcels aggregating
$32,720, at ah average front foot rate
of nearly $155. One of the new
owners has plans for a bank build
ing which will be Intended to serve
the 26,000 people who daily cross the
Bellwood viaduct, and the city Is fig
uring on a location at that point for
a fire engine house to cost not less
than $25,000.

cern bought from S. A. Brown
783, 785, 787, 789 Marietta Street,
98x200 feet, for $13,720; another client
bought from Mary Dunlap 773, 775,
777 Marietta Street for $10,500; Mrs.
M. A. Timmons sold to a client 771

This section is traversed by large
numbers of people coming from Cobb

Brookhaven Club Sale.
At a meeting Thursday afternoon
the Capital City Club property com
mittee voted to adopt the proposition
of Charles P. Glover and others for
the downtown club to take over
the Brookhaven Country Club The
price wan fixed at $100,000, to be re
tired through 6 per cent bonds. The
Immediate arrangement, however, Is
for the Capital City to lease the
Brookhaven Club for a year at $100
a month, and to buy within the suc
ceeding two years. Possession can
be had In two weeks and the Capital
City is expected to make some sub
stantial improvements.
The Capital City voted some time
ago to reduce Its initiation fee for
90 days from 1100 to $50 and to in
crease the membership from 700 to
800 members. Although quite a num
ber of the members of the old Brook
haven Club are expected to become
members of the Capital City, there
Is no obligation on the latter under
the lease and option agreement.
Charles P. Glover declared that it
would be to the advantage of the
Brookhaven estates for the club prop
erty to revert to the corporation aft
er a year, although he did not antic
ipate that hte Capital City would not
find it profitable to exercise the op
tion.
Rhodes Goes to Pace’s Ferry.
A bond for title has gone to record
in the transfer May 15 of a large
residence lot on Pace’s Ferry Road,
650 feet west of Robert F. Maddox’s
estate, from Andrew £alhoun to J. D.
Rhodes, for $12,900. This property
was bought by Mr. Calhoun from
Charles J. Martin July 19, 1912, for
$11,500.
