Industrious Hustlers Who
Want Animals.
Twn girls and on* boy, all friends,
and resident* of the same neighbor
hood, are struggling for first plane
in the contest for The Sunday Amer-
i< an and Georgian pony in District 4
It promises to be the prettiest race
of all.
Miss Robert Halbour. of 340 Ponce
DeLeon Avenue, la making a strong
showing in District 2.
Three Contestants Are Friends.
Miss Fannie Mae Cook. 237 Pul
liam Street. Miss Florence Greenoe.

much in earnest about winning a
pony They are scouring Atlanta for
coupons and for eubcicrlptions to The
Georgian and American
Miss Robert Halbour Is a little bit
of a Miss, but through the aid of her
father and her friends she Is making
■ any of the older children do their
best. She Is popular in District 2, and
may bo one of the winners.
So sure is one of the lads In the
contest for the State, outside of At
lanta. that he has named his pony.
He is going to call It "Prince.” he
says, and from the way he is hustling
up subscription* he has reason to feet
confident.
Has Valuable Ideas.
' I am going to get the magasines
out of The Sunday American that I
had left over, and use them as sam
ples and in that way try to get new
business. 1 am advertising The Geor
gian In a theater program here to
arouse interest in the pony contest,”
writes one of the boys in the carriers
and agents’ contest. Here is a hfnt
which other contestants may find of
advantage In their own campaigns.
“My motto is. Let nothing discour
age you: never give up,’ writes an
other contestant out in the State, a
young .ady who Is vying with the
boys and young men with great suc
cess. With a motto like hers, she
should make a wonderful showing.
"1 am desirous of obtaining a pony
cart similar to the one pictured In
jour advertisements in The Georgian
adve rtising your cr-ntest, and will ap-
precDte it very much if you will ad
vise nu' where I may purchase one of

In Tin- Georgian (hat the carls which
go with thf ponies as prizes in the
contest are of the best and he wants
one like them. Nothing could Illus
trate bettor the quality of The Geor
gian and American offer.
List Grows Longsr.
Nominations are to be open until
May 31, and the number of contest
ants Is Increasing dally, until it now
is well over 300.
While these late-comer* arc at
something of a disadvantage, there is
no reason why they can nor, by live
ly work, outstrip their competitors
who took time by the forelock.
The contest is absolutely fair. Noth
ing counts but energy and industry.
Votes roll up at a surprising rate
when the contestant goes into the
race for all he is worth.
One little girl the other day got
7,500 votes In an afternoon, and that
record probably will be excelled many
times before the contest is over.
Besides winning a pony, the con- j
testants will gain expeltence which
will be of great value to them when
they enter the business world. A
parent may well encourage hit chll- J
dren to enter the contest for this rea- ;
son alone.
