block and a half toward Mangum
Street, between Simpson and Jones
Avenue. The tracks will extend
westerly 550 and 357 feet, respectively.
Work on them is expected to start
soon. 1
Persons in close touch with the im
provement intimated that substantial
commercial establishments were in
contemplation, but refused to go into
details.
This step is but another evidence
of an industrial awakening in the
neighborhood mentioned. Other in
terests, principally the railroads, are
quietly working out plans of exten
sion. Announcement of such plans Is
looked for shortly.
Most of the property in this direc
tion on which developers have an eye
for manufacturing is within the one-
mile radius, which means close prox
imity to downtown activities.
West End Lots Bring $30,800.
Included in Friday’s real estate an
nouncements was the sale of approxi
mately $30,800 in residence lots by
the Dillin-Morris Company and J. S.
Collins, of Collins Brothers & Davies
for William J. Davis, developer of
West End Park. The sale of 27 lots
covered a period of 30 days, and It
was also announced that about 25
houses are just completed or being
built in this subdivision, and that the
total in West End Park is now ap
proximately 150. West End Park was
opened up a year ago.
The lots just sold are on West On
tario Avenue, near Gordon Street, and
averaged $1,100 to $1,250 apiece.

in tw'o sales on Durant Place, 474
feet north of Ponce DeLeon Avenue.
Edward .M. Durant sold to Attorney
Sam D. Hewlett, 1 egislator-elect;
John Y. Smith and John T. Dennis a
44 by 109-foot lot, for $2,000, and
an adjoining lot, 42 by 109 feet, for
the same price. Mr. Hewlett and
Mr. Smith got an undivided three-
eighths interest each and Mr. Dennis
two-eighths. The cash consideration
was $500 in each sale.
Transfer of Ellis Parcel.
S. H. Phelan, of Crawford County,
formerly of Atlanta, has conveyed to
Mrs. Barry Wright, of Rome, the
northeast corner of Ellis and Court-
land Streets. This parcel is a block
east of the Elks Club ajid in the
vicinity of other valuable properties.
The frontage on Ellis Street is 50
feet.
Cancellations on Increase.
Figures in The Fulton County Daily
Report for the twentieth week of 1913
and the corresponding w r eek in 1912
show a continued increase in the
number and amount of mortgages
canceled, which realty men consider
a good sign. The number in 1913
was 45 and the total $59,445, and for
last year 39 and $45,835. Real estate
transfers gained in number, but fell
off in amount, and building permits
dropped back a little in both.

vorable to a successful auction sale

Six New Bungalows

Sixteen Building Lots
AT AUCTION
Saturday, May 24, 3 P. M.
In the Tenth Ward on Warner Street and
Allene and Woodrow Avenues. Just two
blocks from the splendid car service to East
Point, College Park and -Hapeville. Also con
venient to the Stewart Avenue car line.
This property i3 in a rapidly growing
section, close to the new $4 0,000 “Adair’"’
Public School, and only two blocks from
Adair Park.
One of Atlanta’s best citizens, Mr. I. N.
Ragsdale, has developed this property, spar
ing neither time nor money to bring this prop
erty to a point of desirability that would
make it acceptable to the better class of citi
zens for homes.
With this purpose upper-most in mind, he
has built six attractive bungalows. Built them
of good material and with day labor, exercis
ing good taste and rare good judgment in all
the details of arrangement and construc
tion. These are not the usual “built to sell’’
affairs.
Each house has a small loan, which the
purchaser assumes as part of the price. The
balance will be paid in small monthly pay
ments without interest. A small cash pay
ment will be required, ranging from $100 to
$250. This is an unusually easy arrangement
that should appeal to every buyer of a home.
The lots will be sold on very easy terms,
with 6 per cent simple interest.
The lots lie particularly well, many of
them having nice shade. They will make de
sirable and valuable home sites. Several of
them have the added value of two street
fronts.
Take East Point or College Park cars.
