ter of Miss Marjorie Bobb, who was
extensively entertained while visiting
here recently, and who was one of
the attendants at the Hodgson-Wood
ruff wedding in Athens in the fall.
AMONG the happiest of the informal
parties tendered Mrs. Paul Seydel,
of New York, during her visit to
ner mother. Mrs. Vassar Woolley, was
the informal tea given Wednesday
afternoon by Mrs. William D. Ellis.
Jr. Six of the intimate friends of
Mrs. Seydel were invited to meet her
at the Piedmont Driving Club, and
tea was served from a prettily ar
ranged tea table placed on the ter
race. Mrs. Ellis was a charming
hostess, wearing a becoming after
noon toilet, and Mrs. Seydel was* love
ly in a Frenchy toilet combining white
voile and pale blue crepe de chine,
worn with a large black Neapolitan
hat adorned with field flowers.
Mrs. Paul Seydel, of New York, who
was formerly miss Mildred Woolley of
Atlanta, will remain with Mrs. Vas
sal Woolley for a month. A cordial
welcome has been extended Mrs. Sey-
dell, who was one of the very pop
ular young women of the city before
her marriage, and some of the hap
piest entertaining of the week has
been in her honor. Since her resi
dence in New York Mrs. Seydel has
been identified with many of the
facial clubs of the city and she was
recently elected treasurer of the Dixie
Club of New York, of which Mrs.
Milton Anderson, formerly Miss Mar
tha Goode, of Atlanta, has just re
signed the presidency. Mr. Seydel,
who shared the honors at several
informal dinner parties, bowling par
ties. etc., given during the week for
Mrs. Seydel, has returned home.
Miss Gertrude Cohen. who has
spent the winter in Louisville, Ky.,
where she has met with the great
est success in her kindergarten work,
will spend June at Hull House Chi
cago .
A merry birthday party was given
Monday afternoon by Mrs. John Ki-
aer, for John Kiser, Jr. The occasion
celebrated the sixth birthday of the
little boy, and the affair was char
acterized by unusually pretty details
of decoration. The children enjoyed
games, and from a large barrel, cov
ered with pink and white, they drew
fascinating souvenirs.
Refreshments were served under a
large canopy on the lawn, the guests
being seated at a long table, sur
rounded by smaller tables. The birth
day cake, bearing six lighted tapers,
and beautifully embossed, was flanked
on either side by vases of ; lnk and
white sweetpeas, and pink and whirs
spun candy balls. As souvenir?? for
the girls there were little baskets oC
pink and white bonbons, and there
were French poppers, tied with tiny
pink itoses, for the boys. The ices
for the boys were -molded in the form
of fire engines, drawn by horses, and
for the girls, Mother Goose upon a
white goose.
Master Kiser was very handsome
in a suit of white linen, with broad
blue collar and cuffs. Mrs. Kiser
wore lavender linen, with collar and
cuffs of lace. Her mother, Mrs. x/u-
ther C. Read, who assisted her in
entertaining, wore blue ratine with
coat of lace.

school, and a piano solo by Harry

Mrs. W. B. Calhoun delightfully on
tertained the ladies of her club, the
“Forty-two Special.’’ and a number of
invited guests at her home in West
End Thursday afternoon.
Pink roses arranged throughout
the house, with white daisies, formed
the decorations in all the rooms. The
score cards were pretty hand-painted
pink roses. Punch was served by the
Misses Calhoun and Whiteman, who
were prettily dressed in white with
pink sashes.
At the close of the game delightful
refreshments were served. The ices
also were pink and white. During the
afternoon a number of piano selec
tions were rend red by Mrs. W. H,
Burgess. Miss Mabel Hill. Miss Cal
houn and Miss Whiteman.

lightful lawn party Saturday even
ing at the Officers’ Club of Fort Mc
Pherson. The occasion celebrated the
birthday of Mrs. Barnett, and a happy
incident of the evening was the pres
entation to hoc of a handsome silver
loving cup, the gift of the bachelors
of the post.
Lieutenant and Mrs. Burnett receiv
ed at the Officers’ Club, which was
decorated with palms and foliage
plants, and festoons of Japanese lan
terns. Music by the band was a
bright feature, and there was danc
ing. Punch was served during the
evening, with a Dutch supper at 10
o’clock.
The guests included the friends of
Lieutenant and Mrs. Burnett at the
Fort, and the occasion was one of
much pleasure. The birthday cake
was ornamented with a miniature
Maypole, the vari-colored ribbons
ending in w reaths of May flowers.
Mrs. Burnett was a charming hos
tess. wearing an imported gown of
white aero cloth, combined w ith em
broidery and finished with a sash of
Pink tulle. She wore a diamond
necklace and a star pendant of dia
monds. and the becoming toilet was
completed by a large white picture
hat adorned w ith a white Paradise.
