Preacher Sentenced
To Gallows Appeals

Rev. Marlon Cappet, a former Metho
dist preacher, has filed an appeal
to the State »Supr«mo Court from a
sentence of death Imposed upon him
by a Sebastian County Jury. Hr was
convicted of burning to death three
of his children. Evidence at the trial
was that the children were tied in
bed, which w:ts saturated with oil.
and the house fired.
Capps was convicted on the testi
mony of two elder children, who es
caped, hut who, It Is alleged, have
since declared they swore falsely
against their father.
