The Chamber of Commerce com mittee considering a site for the ex hibit of Atlanta-fhade goods in a per manent building for the Merchants and Manufacturers’ Association de cided Monday to ask the directors of the Dhamber of Commerce Realty Company to submit them a price on the four top floors of the Chamber of Commerce Building at the south east corner of North Pryor and Au burn avenue. President Moore has accordingly called a meeting of the directory foi 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Chamber rooms in the Empire Build ing. The committee considered several propositions, but it is known that the members would like to be In the Chamber building if possible, hence the request. The Chamber, in this event, would occupy the first two floors of the six-story building, which is now being renovated. The action of the committee came as somewhat «f a surprise in real estate criedes, since thjs site had not been seriously considered until it was mentioned Monday. According to information obtained Monday, an effort will be made coon to have Council consider a proposition to underpass the Southern Railway tracks at South Pryor and Ridge ave nue, while the work of widening, re grading and repaving South Pryor is in progress. This Improvement, it is pointed out, would make a continu ous smooth thoroughfare to Lake- wood. With this work done, it will be possible to connect up Lakew’ood drive and South Pryor with a road way that would save many yards in travel about the lake. The upper stories of the Ponce De Leon apartments are all right as re gards encroachment on the sidewalk at the southeast corner of Peachtree and Ponce DeLeon, according to As sistant Building Inspector C. Sixth street to Fifteenth was fin ished some weeks ago. and the re pairs will make a smooth thorough fare about eight miles in length. The gap between W. S. Witham’s and the DeKalb County line, near the Capi tal City Country Club, will be com pleted in a few r weeks. Interest in Comfort Station. Real estate men went over their listings Monday with a view of se lecting a site for th*- city public com fort station, which has been designed by Haralson Bleckley, the well-known architect and author of the plaza plan. This building is to cost $X0,- 000, according to the sketch, and w'lll be located at some point to be chosen by the City Council.
