The petition of W. B. SMITH, H. N.
RANDOLPH and R. S. PARKER, all
of said State and county, respectively
shows:
I. That they desire for themselves
their associates and successors, to be
incorporated and made a body politic
trader the name and style of
SCORTGAGE SECURITY COMPANY,
for a period of twenty (20) years, with'
the privilege of renewal at the expi
ration of that time.
II. The principal office of said com
pany will be located in the City of At
lanta, State and county a’foresaid, but
R etitioners desire the right to estab-
sh branch offices at other points with
in the State of Georgia, or elsewhere.
III. The object of said corporation is
pecuniary gain to itself and stockhold
ers.
IV. The business to be carried on by
the said corporation is that of lending
money secured by mortgages or deeds
to real estate, or unsecured; buying and
selling all species of property, real and
personal; dealing generally in stocks,
bonds, notes, choses in action and other
securities; acting as broker or agent in
the lending or borrowing of moneys and
the purchase or sale of stocks, bonds,
notes or other things of value. And pe
titioners desire that said corporation
shall have the right to engage in the
following lines of business, to-wit:
(a) To lend money belonging to it
self or others, charging commissions
for such services.
(b) To buy and sell mortgages, mort
gage notes and notes secured by se
curity deeds or otherwise, and notes un
secured.
(c) To buy and sell purchase money
notes, stocks, bonds, choses In action,
and any other form of security.
(d) To buy, sell, rent, improve, sub
divide, lease or sub-lease real estate,
or any Interest therein.
(e) To act as agent or broker for
any person or persons in respect to any
of the powers herein oraved for itself.
V. Petitioners further desire the
right to borrow money, to issue its
bonds or notes In evidence thereof, and
to secure the same by mortgage, deed
of trust, or in any other way known
to the law. , t
VI. The capita? stock of said corpo
ration shall be twenty-five thousand
($25,000) dollars, with the privilege of
Increasing the same from time to time
to an amount not exceeding in the ag
gregate two hundred and fifty
thousand ($250,000) dollars; said in
crease in stock to be made
upon a majority vote of the stock
outstanding at the time. The said cap
ital stock is to be divided Into shares
of the par value of one hundred ($100)
dollars each, and petitioners desire the
right to issue both commond and prefer
red stock, at the option of the stockhold
ers and in such proportions and on such
terms as he stockholders may deter-

immunities given under the laws of the
State of Georgia to similar corpora
tions, or such as may hereafter be al

Larrest Bell
<
The largest bell in the world has never been
hung. The great bell at Moscow, at the foot of the
Kremlin, is so large and heavy that it eould never
he raised into the tower. Its circumference at the
bottom is nearly sixty-eight feet, and its height
more than twenty-one feet.
In its stoutest part it is twenty-three inches
thick, and its weight has been computed to be 433,-
722 pounds.
The bell is called the “Czar Bell.” It was cast
in 1735, and is now resting on a stone pedestal near
the tower of Ivan the Great.
Part of the bell broken off during the fire of
1737 lies near the “Czar Cannon,” which was cast
in 1586 and weighs nearly forty tons.
