REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION NEWS Business Houses Due Soon for Peachtree Huntley Subdivision on McBurney Lbt—$500,000 Concern Organizes and Is Seeking Location. Stores will soon go up at the south west corner of Peachtree and Sixth streets on property bought some months ago by Mrs. Lena Swift Hunt- ley. This is the old E. P. McBurney place, and it has been cut into 25-foot store lots for the erection of business houses. The present tenant, Dr. Hugh K. Walker, pastor of the First Pres byterian Church, it was reported Fri day, had been given notice that the house would not be rented after the fall. This neighborhood is due to have more improvements later on. The owners of the northeast corner of Peachtree and Sixth streets—John G. and B. Frank Bell and Wallace Boyd —have had separate bonds for title executed on the M. L. Bates place, and art expected either to subdivide or improve. P'our business lots will be 25 by 100 on Peachtree and two Will be 45 by 100 on Sixth street. The Raoul homestead across the street will probably be torn down be fore a great while. Mrs. Mary W. Raoul, the owner and present occu pant, has bought a large lot in Druid Hills and will build there. The old Ryan place at the southeast corner of Peachtree and Seventh streets passed into the hands of Clyde L. King and others last December, and this is also said to be marked for subdivision. Thi3 lot is 100 by 200 feet. There has been considerable trading on the place of Dr. J. Scott Todd on the east side of Peachtree between the Bates and Ryan homes, and the home of Dr. Joseph Jacobs was put up for sale, but later withdrawn from the market. Announcement that John D. Little anticipates encroachments on his handsome place at the northwest cor ner of Peachtree and Eighth streets and will build on Pace’s Ferry road emphasises the anxiety which pioneer residents feel over the advance of business. Among the residents in the neighborhood of the proposed Huntley improvement are Christopher L. Sto- ney, General R. K. Evans, Junius G. Oglesby, Jr.. Frank Hawkins, Mrs. Louise Calhoun, Joseph Cooper and others. Organizing $500,000 Concern.
