Stores will soon go up at the south west corner of Peachtree and Sixth streets on property bought some months ago by Mrs. Lena Swift Hunt- ley. This is the old E. P. McBurney place, and it has been cut into 25-foot store lots for the erection of business houses. The present tenant, Dr. Hugh K. Walker, pastor of the First Pres byterian Church, it was reported Fri day, had been given notice that the house would not be rented after the fall. This neighborhood is due to have more improvements, later on. The owners of the northeast corner of Peachtree and Sixth streets—John G. and B. Frank Bell and Wallace Boyd —have had separate bonds for title executed on the M. L. Bates place, and are expected either to subdivide or improve. Four business lots will be 25 by 100 on Peachtree and two will be 45 by 100 on Sixth street. The Raoul homestead across the street Avill probably be torn down be fore a great while. Mrs. Mary W. Raoul, the owner and present occu pant, has bought a large lot in Druid Hills and will build there. The old Ryan place at the southeast coiner of Peachtree and Seventh streets passed into the hands of Clyde L. King and others last December, and this is also said to be marked for subdivision. This lot. is 100 by 200 feet. There has been considerable trading on the place of Dr. J. Scott Todd on the east side of Peachtree between the Bates and Ryan homes, and the homo of Dr. Joseph Jacobs was put up for sale, but later withdrawn from the market. Announcement that John D. Little anticipates encroachments on his handsome place at the northwest cor ner of Peachtree and Eighth streets and will build on Pace’s Ferry road emphasises the anxiety which pioneer residents feel over the advance of business. Among the residents in the neighborhood of the proposed Huntley improvement are Christopher L. Sto- ney, General R. K. Evans, Junius G. Oglesby, Jr., Frank Haw’kins, Mrs. Louise Calhoun, Joseph Cooper and others. Organizing $500,000 Concern. Barwick and Garnett McMillan, of Fulton. Install Renting Department. Porter & Swift, the well-known real estate agents, will soon install a rent ing department in connection with their saies and loan business and publish a weekly rent bulletin. Realty Men on Move, Shelby Smith, chairman of the Board of County Commissioners and a leading realty man, returned to At lanta Thursday and was in his office Friday after a vacation of two weeks. He will presid at the meeting of the commissioners at the courthouse Sat~ urday morning, when some Impor tant business is to be transacted. The monthly meeting of the board is due Wednesday, August 6. Frank Adair, of the Forrest & George Adaifi Real Estate Agency, has returned from Europe. J. H. Ewings and E. S. Rankin, of the Smith & Ewing Agency, are leaving Friday for New York, where they will go to bring capital to Atlanta. Harris G. White, Charles P. Glpver and S. B. Turman are expected to re turn Monday from the convention of the National Association of Real Es tate Exchanges at Winnipeg. Ornamental Work Rushed. Workmen are busy completing the ornamental terra cotta job on the Healey Building, and should be able to go ahead in a week with the exte rior walls above the second floor. The Healy Building is shaping up nicely and in a month very little of the steel work will be seen. Building Permits. $2,000—S. W.
