to have a winning organization he must

the Yankees, is spending money light

sel. of Baltimore, Farrell yesterday in
vested $9,000 for three minor league
pitchers.
Pitcher Marty McHale, formerly with
the Red Sox, was purchased from the
Jersey City club for $6,000, and will re
port to Manager Chance here to-day.

has seized Crowm Prince Boris of Bul
garia. It was announced to-day that 1

nervous breakdown due to the rigors of i

tion over the safety of his heir reports |
were current in some quarters that an |
attempt had been made to kill Boris
with poison.
