jlanning a notable work among
the different denominations in
the mission study classes this fall.
The Jubilee Union, known as the At
lanta Union of Mission Workers, of
which Mrs. H. N. Hurt is president,
has secured the services of a dis
tinguished leader of study classes,
Dr. B. C. Millikin, of the Missionary
Education Movement, whose head
quarters are in New York. He will be
remembered as one of the brilliant
speakers and leaders at the recent
Presbyterian general assembly held
in Atlanta.
Dr. Millikin will arrive September
13 for a week’s work with missionary
leaders in the city.
There will be a meeting of the vice
presidents of the denominations on
Wednesday morning at 10:30 o’clock
at St. Luke’s to perfect the details
of the course. Dr. Millikin will be
the guest of Mrs. Archibald Davis
while here.

and is a former Atlantan, having been
born and reared in this city and or
dained at St. Philip’s Cathedral.

GRACE METHODIST.
A stirring revival has been in prog
ress at Grace Church, corner High
land avenue and Jackson street, con
ducted by the Rev. Dr. Bass. There
has been two services every day, w’ith
song services and special features to
make them interesting. Many con
verts have been taken into the church
during the past week.

BAPTIST TABERNACLE.
Dr. Lincoln McConnell, who occu
pies the oulpit at the Tabernacle.
is spending his vacation in Illinois,
and will return home in September.
Mrs. McConnell has been spending
the past few weeks at her home in
Thomasville.
There i3 a choir of 80 voices at
the Tabernacle, with Mrs. A. C. Boat
man as organist. This choir has been
taking its annual vacation, which
lasted through August. On the eve
ning of the second of September, the
members of the church and the offi
cial board of the church will give
the choir a banquet and reception,
which will be an elaborate affair.
l)r. McConnell, the new minister,
w’ill be present at this entertainment,
and will be welcomed to the church
by the members.
On the fourteenth of the month, the
church and Sunday school will give
a public reception to Dr. McConnell,
and installation services w’ill be Con
ducted.

SECOND BAPTIST.
I N the two weeks’ absence of Dr. J.
W. White, pastor of the Second
Baptist Church, the Rev. Dr. Lan
drum, formerly of the First Baptist
Church of Atlanta, but now of
Louisville, Ky., has had charge ot
the services of that chufch and has
added greatly to the pleasure of the
congregation by his Interesting ser
mons and his personal attendance at
the several social affairs of the
church recently.

T'HE Baptist Young People’s Union

Thursday evening, at which
time an unusually interesting pro
gram was rendered. A large number

W EDNESDAY AFTERNOON a
delightful lawn party was
given by the ladies of St. An
thony Guild, at which time a number
of games were enjoyed by the chil
dren, and the older people present
were treated to a program of music.
Refreshments were served and there
was a cake "bale which netted a good
sum of money.

his vacation, which was spent ii^New

The Rev. L. E. Barton, W’ho has
been spending several weeks at Mont-
eagle with his family, will return to
Atlanta next week and take possession
of his new home. Dr. Barton has re
cently taken charge of the Jackson
Hill Baptist Church, and came to At
lanta from Mississippi, where he has
been residing during the past few
years.
