Lots Transferred.
The total of farm tracts sold on
Thursday in the Dakota farm sub
division near Ashburn, Turner Coun
ty, by J. Hope Tigner, of the Edwin
IV Ansley real estate agency, was
$112,000. an average of nearly $50 an
acre. Fifteen hundred people were
present, and there were 200 bidders
The total of lots Bold was 64. and 40
of these were sold in 25 minutes. The
tracts were 26 to 100 acres.
All of the farms were sold to farm-
j 'Ts who will move in at once. The
tracts are well watered and all in
| cotton.

Restrtt of Directors’ Meeting.
Real estate dealers were much en
couraged Friday over the prospect ol
landing the 1916 convention of the
National Association of Real Estate
Exchanges, the directors of the At
lanta Real Estate Board having met
Thursday with Charles P. Glover and
indorsed the movement. Mr. Glover.
Harris (J. White, president of the
realty board, and General A. J. West
spoke m favor of the project. A res
olution was passed calling on the
real estate men and the public in gen
eral to help get this convention, and
it is probable that in a short while
some definite plan of action will be
submitted.
The constitution and by-laws and
complete list of members and firms
of the Atlanta Real Estate Board will
be contained* in the new handbook to
be published October l,«as announced
at the meeting.
Mr. Glover, J. H. Ewing and Edgar
Morris were appointed a committee
to design a distinctive seal for the
use of the realty men in advertising.
Interesting Transfers.
R. D. Dorsey, of Buckhead, a real
ty salesman with W. E. Treadwell A:
Co., has transferred to Mrs. Ida G.
Wilson several lots on West Fifteenth
street, which he took April 30 in ex
change for hrs house and lot on the
north side of Piedmont avenue, be
tween Peachtree and Roswell loads.
Papers in the transfer have Just gone
to record.
The first lot is the northwest corner
of Fifteenth and Center streets. 50 b\
149, for $6,000; the second, 50 feet
west of Center street, 50 by 149, for
$5,000, and the third, 100 feet west of

Mr. Smith Not Interested.
In an account in Wednesday’s Geor

works. Davis was fined $15.75 and was 1
bound over to the State Court Thurs
day afternoon by Councilman Charles

COLUMBUS, Aug. 29.—The steering
committee for the campaign to be
waged for the commission government
election, to be held in Columbus De
cember 10, is beginning to formulate
its plans for the fight.
There is considerable opposition to
the commission idea on the part of
& number of the present Aldermen and
other city officials, as well as from
other sources.
