“Mary’s Lamb” To-night.
The Atlanta Theater will open to
night with Richard Carle’s musical com
edy, “Mary’s Lamb." Dan McGrath IS
playing the part originated by Carle and
is assisted by a capable company, with
Bertha Yeoman as prima donna. Critics
in the South have been very lavish in
their praise for the ginger and snap
given this performance by the company
to be seen here. The, play holds over
for a Thursday matinee and night per
formance.
Forsyth Bill a Hit.
The hill at the Forsyth this week Is
worth while. It is a show that Is crowd
ing the busy house at every perform
ance and that means that it has scored
its hit. There are acts that blend In
perfect harmony and there is novelty
that is so unusual that interest is strong
from first to last. Sam Mann and Com
pany, presenting “The New Leader,”
present the very besi novelty sketch
that has been seen - on the Forsyth
stage. Mann himself Is the most inter
esting and entertaining character Corn
ell ian that has ever been here in vaude
ville and his company of six people arq
all capable. Alexander and Scott win
applause because they are among the
best entertainers in their line in all
vaudeville. Willard Rims and Company
offer “Flinders’ Furnished Flat” with
great comedy success, and there are
other features that have more than or
dinary drawing qualities.

There was more In the removal of
the Peachtree Dairy from No. 439
Peachtree to No. 813 Peachtree, as
announced Monday, than appeared on
the surface. This concern and others
are making way for a $60,000 three-
story and basement building to be
erected by the Turman, Black & Cal
houn real estate agency, to be used
for purposes to be announced later.
The destruction of the one-story
buildings on the property has started
and the new structure should be com
pleted by January 1. Mrs. Henry H.
Smith Is the owner. The property Is
92 by 135 feet and 47 feet south of
Linden street, on the east side of
Peachtree. Three stories will give It
a gross square footage of 12,420 feet.
The Peachtree Dairy has leased No.
813 Peachtree through Turman, Black

Mr. Parrott Changes Plans.
George W. Parrott, the well-known
financier, has changed his plans on
the $12,000 bungalow at the north
west corner of Peachtree and Sev
enth streets, and instead of finishing
his house, will probably erect a hand
some apartment. The foundations of
stone had cost approximately $1,000.
Some time ago Mr. Parrott planned
a ten-story apartment hotel for this
corner, and it is expected that he will
now build such a structure, or a
handsome apartment house.
The old Powers two-story frame
house, which formerly stood on this
lot, has been rolled back to the rear
of the premises.
Important Lease Situation.
A. E. Marcus & Co., clothiers, are
selling out at auction their stock of
goods at No. 57 Peachtree and pres
ently the Thompson Restaurant Com
pany of Chicago will move in. This
property is in the Hugh T. Inman
estate and it is said the new concern
will pay $750 a month, or $9,000 a
vear. The Marcu9 Company has been
paying $375. The frontage is approx
imately 30 feet and the depth 100 feet.
Paces Ferry Road Purchase.
John S. Owens, the well-known
bank official, has bought from R. J.
Guinn an Irregular-shaped lot on
Paces Ferry road, 622 feet from Hab
ersham road. Deeds have gone to
record. Mr. Owens Is the owner of
an extensive farm up the Chatta
hoochee River, In Fulton County.

decrease, but realty men expect brisk
trade to make up the deficit next
month. The number of realty trans
fers In August, 1913, was 876, and the
total amount $2,632,118, and In 1912,
938. and $3,010,505. Mortgages can
celled were 189, and $275,237, as
against 216, and $354,308. Building
permits w’ere 297, and $348,256, as
against 320, and $478,159.

Settlers Are Coming.
A large number of settlors w-ill soon
come to Georgia from the Canadian
Northwest to till parts of a 15,000-
