Real estate announcements In the near future are expected to Include plans for some of the handsomest buildings in the city to be erected on Marietta street within three blocks of Peachtree. There are five comers which would make splendid sites, and It is known that a syndicate of out- of-town capitalists has been trying to lease or buy one of them. Only a short time ago half a mil lion dollars or more for a corner was refused, and now another syndicate is said to be in the market. The DeGive and Jones properties, comprising the block fronting on Ma rietta, Forsyth and Broad streets and Bijou alley, is marked for early im provement. The west wall of the Bi jou Theater building, which fronts about 100 feet on North Forsyth street. Is due to be condemned soon because of crumbling brick, and either a new wall or a new building will be the result. I Assistant Building Inspector Charles | J, Bowen has been in consultation ; with the lessee, Amos Braselton, about i this wall, and declares that If a crack appears the wall will have to come down. The thirty-fifth week of 1913 shows some substantial gains over the cor responding week in 1913 in real estate transfers.
