MACON, Nov. 28.- The new assign

Georgia Methodist Conference will
probably be made Monday morning.
In his address at the Mulberry Street

Candler will state the definite time
for the announcement of the assign

here Monday night for Natchez,
Miss., where on Wednesday morning
fie will open th t e Mississippi Confer

ministers will know before noon Mon
day just where they will be located
next year.
To-day the delegates were enter

Methodist Orphans* Home. More
than 700 were dined. Last night the

you as being a rather forgetful per

sometimes, haven't you. and woke up
on Christmas morning to find alto

however beautiful the other things
were.
This year you can make tilings a
bit different. Tbe Sunday American

the clerical delegates to the General
Conference. The Rev. YV. C. lyovett,
of Atlanta, and the Rev. Basrom An

Outler and the Rev. W. F. Smith
were elected reserve delegates. The
pulpit* of practically all of the Pro

Hunday morning by the visiting
Methodist preachers
The principal business transacted
to\ the conference so far is:
The vote against eliminating the
word “South” from the name of the
church.
The increase of the fund for super

Indorsement of the Emory College
trustees for refusing to allow inter-

Above is a verse, written by Charles
F. Lummis, that will be given to the
school children that they may not
mispronounce the name of their city.
The Southwest Museum furnishes
the following authoritative key to the
pronoumiation of Los Angeles:
“The ‘O’ in ‘Los’ is long. The word
should be pronounced to rhyme with
‘Dose.’
“The ‘A’ of ‘Angeles’ is a little
broader than the English Ann, but not
so broad as “Ahn.’
“The ’G’ is hard. There is no ’jelly’
sound in Spanish.
“The final es’ should practically
rhyme with Yes.
“The vital thing is that the ‘O’ shall
he long, and the *G’ hard, and the
final *E’ short, and not ‘EE.’ "
