State Department to-day took under
Investigation a story of a political
intrigue which involves a fortune on
one hand and possibly the life of
General Joseph E. Santos Zelava, for

other.
It Is claimed that the real reason
for * r oceedings against Zelaya by
Nicaragua Is to put him to dea-th and
clear the way for a proposed Issue of
63,000,000 In bonds through Brown
Bros. & Co., of New York.
“These bonds, it is said, are to be
secured with the customs recetpts of

to arrive in Atlanta Sunday morning
to take Colyar back to Rome to stand

The charges made against Colyar
ire sensational. Dispatches from
Rome late Saturday night stated that
Colyar had Informed Mr*. Awtry that
her son was In Chicago and about ‘0

yar is declared to have represented
himself as an attorney and promised
Mrs ,»wtry that for 6750 he could ob

amount, it Is further alleged, were
handed over to Colyar, who cashed
them at a local bank.
With the appearance of the son 'n
Rome the following day the alleged
fraud was uncovered. Awtry swore
out a warrant for Colyar before Jus

matter was brought to tho attention
of Solicitor Folk, of the State De

Quite the most attractive appeal yet
