"The Denver Express.” a spectacu lar melodrama, was presented by the Jewell Kelley Company at the Bijou last night to an audience which fill**!! every seat in the theater. The play was received w it It enthusiasm. Tills week’s offering is one of the famous Holden Brothers’ productions. It is full of thrills. Every member of the company has a good part and all the old favorites scored hits. Governor May Prosecute by Jan uary 12—Order Violation In volves Fine of $5,000. Eight railroads operating In Georgia have he»*n ordered by the State Rail road Commission to nlptw cause by January 12, 1914, why the Governor should not be asked to bring suit against ihcjji for a violation of Order No. 14, constituted by the withdrawal of their interchangeable mileage 1 books. This order was announced after an executive session lasting practically all of Monday. Under the law, the maximum penalty is a fine of $5,000 against the railroads for each viola tion of a ruling of the commission. The violation in this instance was' put forth as being a change in tariff without first submitting the change to the commission for its approval. The railroads named in the order had given notice that after December 17 they would discontinue inter changeable mileage books. This fol lowed the Judgment of the Supreme Court upholding the order of the com mission requiring roads to pull mile age on trains. The commission was divided three to two on the original order, and It is understood that there also was a di- \ lslon as to the question of whether the order had been violated. The roads coming under the cen sure of the commission are the Southern, the Central of Georgia, the Seaboard, the. A., B. and A., the Geor gia. the Macon, Dublin and Savan nah, the Georgia and Florida, and the Wrightsville and Tennille. LIFE TERM FOR SLAYING. SAVANNAH, Dec. 16.
