Tuesday in compliment to Miss
Katherine Ellis and her guest. Miss
Dorothy Aleshlre, of Washington, D.
C., at her home on Fifteenth street.
The decorations consisted of red |
carnations, combined with ferns anti j
narcissi.
There was a prize for each table, a
diary bound in green leather, and the
honor guests were made recipients of
engagement books, especially useful
for these popular debutantes.
In the dining room, where tea was
served, there was a tall silver vase of
Richmond roses as a centerpiece for
the table, and the other details were
carried out in red. The ices were
served in little red candy baskets
the handles tied with red tulle.
Mrs. Westmoreland was charming
in black charmeuse, with a tunic of
blue chiffon over rose and trimmed in
fox fur.
Sixteen guests were invited for
bridge, and they were joined later by
several of the young married women.

friends. While for several years tho
annual entertainments of the Cotillion
Club have been among the most en
joyable events of the winter season,
an added charm will be given this year
by tho presence of the women, who
will come with powdered hair, a most
becoming style which is well suited
to any face.
While some of the guests will ap
pear in fancy costume, many will wear
conventional evening clothes, with the
powdered hair. There will be danc
ing before supper, which will be
served in the ladies’ cafe of the Cap
ital City Club, and following supper
the cotillion will be danced.

American Beauty roses arranged tn
a silver epergno, which made a floral
bower In the center of the tabic.
Near each end of the table were (
smaller silver flower holders, and the i
silver candlesticks bore white tapers,
tipped with shades of American Beau
ty roses.
Richmond roses and narcissi wore |
lavishly used to decorate the otlmr
apartments, and Mrs. Little’s beautiful
dinner gown of La Nuit blue had a
tunic of net embroidered In shades
of blue, the corsage also embellished
with an embroidery of beads in the
La Nult shade.

the prettiest affairs of the week. In
which the hostess displayed the
greatest taste by carrying out In every
detail of her decorations the Dresden
colors. The entire table service was

Delicious refreshments were served
at the close of the game, and the af
fair was one of the happiest Events of

colored charmeuse, combined with
Persian. Miss Gude wore green bro
cade and satin, and her black velvet
hat was wreathed In white plumes.
