Thursday afternoon, it being a quiet
borne affair. Their future home will

Mrs Claud Badgely, of New York, who

Wortham. Mrs. Emory Winship gave

a large number of out-of-town
visitors in Columbus during the
holidays, among the number to be en
tertained being Miss Mary Foy, of Eu-
faula, Ala.; Miss Willie Muse, of At
lanta, and Miss Isabel Crum, of Mont
gomery.
Wide Interest was manifested in the
marriage of Miss Bessie Howard and
Homer Carey Fitts on Tuesday after
noon at the Rose Hill Presbyterian
hurch, the ceremony being performed
by Dr I. S Me Elroy, They will reside
at Fort Mitchell. Ala.
Last Wednesday evening several of
the most intimate friends of Miss Mary
Billings gave her a surprise party, the
occasion oeing in honor of her fifteenth
birthday. Games were enjoyed.
Mrs. Barschall Andrews was the hos
tess of the Advanced Auction Club Mon
day afternoon, when she entertained its
members at her home on Front street.
The guests who were present included
all of the members and Mrs. Everett
Strupper, Mrs. Charles B. Woodruff.

The Artists’ Lyceum Course inaugu
rated at Chase’s Conservatory of Music
for the winter season began Wednes
day evening, with exercises that were

A brilliant social event of this week
was the wedding at the First Presbyte
rian* Church Thursday evening of Miss
Helen Long and Shirley Boykin.

The bride is the youngest daughter
of H W Long and is a favorite in
Carrollton society. The groom is the
second son of Mr and Mrs. 8. J. Boy
kin, and has been a resident of Carroll
ton since boyhood.

B. Cone, of Lake City, Fla., Thursday
evening, at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Carter,
Love avenue and Fourth street. The
ring ceremony was used, the Rev. T.
H Thomson, of the Tifton Methodist
Church, officiating. The decorations
were executed by Mesdames N. Peterson,
Banks and Moore. Before the cere
mony Mrs. VV. L. Harman sang “Be
cause,” and Mrs W. A. Puckett ren
dered Mendelssohn's “Wedding March.”
The bridesmaids were Miss Mary Love,
of Douglas, and Mias Ethel Carter, the
bride’s sister R C. Chapman, of Lake
City, was best man. Miss Alyne Byrd,
of Lake City, was maid of honor. The
out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Cone, or Jacksonville. Roy Chap
man, of Lake City; Miss Mary Love, of
Douglas; Miss Alyne Byrd, of Lake
