phone networks, except farmers' lines
to the United States, effective Janu
ary 1, 1915

The taking possession by the Post-
master General of said networks and
the operation thereafter ns telephone
and telegraph lines by the Postofflce
Department
The appraisal thereafter of said
properties by the Interstate Com
merce Commission awarding just
compensation therefor with the right
of appeal to the Circuit Court of Ap
peals as to tho amounts of the re
spective awards.
The payment quarterly to the own
ers of such telephone properties, pen-
iento life of 4 per centum per annum
upon their value from January 1,

such property out of the Treasury of

tem to employees and such other pro
visions as may seem desirable.
Milton A. Smith’s
Funeral Monday
Puneral arrangements for Milton A.
Smith, one of Atlanta’s most prom
inent pioneer cltiwenv, who died Sat
urday afternoon nf his home. No. 25
South Lawn street, are being held up
pending the arrival in Atlanta Sunday
afternoon of St. Klmo Massei)gale, a
son-in-law. and Milton A. Sue d. Jr.,
of Greenville, S. C. who were noti
fied immediately after the death of
Mr Smith.
The funeral wilt take place Monday,
it was stated Saturday night
Mr. Smith was 6f» years old. and for
32 year's had been a resident of At
lanta.
He was president of the Smith-
Simpson Lumber Company and of the
Kast Point Lumber Company, and
Nice president of the Germania Loan
and Banking Company at the time of
his death
Mr. Smith came to Atlanta from)
Smlthville, Ga.. and has been con
nected closely with the upbuilding of
Atlanta.
H* is survived by three sons—Or
mond and Walter Smith, of Atlanta,
and Milton. Jr., of Greenville. Also
one daughter, Mrs. Massengule.
