Cafe Wednesday night about 10 o'clock
are just recovering from a fright they
received when some one threw a lighted
cigarette into tfie tinseled Christmas
tree on the cashier's desk. As the blazes
flared up the diners rushed for the en
trance in panic. Every fire company in
the city answered the general alarm.

ment have been the recipients of letters
from Colonel Roosevelt urging them to

These letters are said to have been
the reason for the withdrawal of Mar
