INFORMATION FOR
PARCEL POST USERS.
What Can Be Shipped, How Wrapped,
Weight, Size, Etc.
The Postal regulations require that
Parcel Post matter for First and Sec
ond Zones and Local Rural Routes
shall not exceed 50 pounds in wel%}n.
and shall not be in excess of 72 inches
in length and girth combined. Nor shall
the form and kind be likely to injure
the person of any postal employee or
other mail matter, or of a perishable
character within a period reasonably re
quired for its transportation and deliv
ery,
Matter for Parcel Post dellvery shall
include farm and factory products not
now inhibited by law in the first, second
and third class.
Preparation for Malilng. 3
All packages must carry the name
and address of the sender, preceded by
the word ‘from,’ and must he 8o
packed that its contents may be easily
examined. .
How to Pack.
A package containing liquids or lHque
fiahle substances must be inclosed in a
box or tube of metal or wood with a re
movable lid, and all of the same
wrapped securely with paper, cloth or
parchment.
Local or Rural Deilvery,
Any Parcel Post Matter that Is ad
missible mailed at any postoffice will
be delivered from there to a city or lo
cal carrier or from which a Rural Route
emanates,
Parcel Post Zones.
The first zone is that territory ecir
eumseribed by a radial line of 50 miles
from Atlanta in all directions.
The Second Zone extends 150 miles in
an air line from Atlanta as the genter.

Parcel Post Rates.
For local or rural delivery, also first
and second zones, 5 cents for the first
pound or any fraction of a pound. For
cost of additionel pounds up to 50
pounds, the maximium weight, see table
of rates:
