Georgia {8 the only Southern State
to date that has not passed legisia
tion for funds with which to present
an exhibit at the Panama-Pacific In
ternational Exposition at San Fran
eisco, according to W, Walton O'Hara,
Southern States Commissioner for the
exposition company, who arrived in
Atlanta Saturday
Mr. O'Hara Iz stopping at Hotel
Ansley and will, during his ten days’
stay In the city, urge the Legislature
to hasten its action on the bill now
before the Lower House which pro
poses a sufficient appropriation for
the State's exhibit at the 1916 fair.
During his tour of the Southern
States Mr. O’'Hara has lined up the
Carolinas, Florida, Virginia and sev
eral other Southern States, all of
which have agreed upon the nature of
their ‘respective exhibits anq the
amounts which will be expended by
each State's exposition commission on
exhlblits,
“I am here to put Georgia on the
exposition map,” said Mr. O'Hara
Saturday night. “The leglslators now
in meeting should realize that only a
short time intervenes before the offl
clal opening of the exposition, and
prompt action is necessary on the
part of this State if its citizens wish
to hava exhihit or State representa
tion on the grounds the day the ex- |
position gates are thrown open (o
world visitors.”
Mr. O'Hara will especially urge a
State bullding for Georgia. He said
it was of the utmost importance that
the Southern States especially, be
cause of thelr desire for !mmigra
tion, should be represented on the
grounds of the exposition by a build
ing, in which industrial literature and
information about the lands might be |
secured by the thousands of alleng
who will throng San Francisco dur
ing the exposition year
Motion Pictures Urged.
The use of motion pictures, Mr,
O'Hara sald, will be one of the most
valuable features of advertising
Georgla could produce,
He will suggest to the State's Expo
gition Commission that reels of the
Btate’s products be made for the ex
position and displayed in either 8
State bullding or in the exhibit H))H"Pl
which has been set aside for tne
State awalting Its action In m-vurnu.:l

Mr. O'Hara sald he wlill present a |
unique plan for the raising of the
State’'s exposition fund by popular
subscription In addition to that
which he hopes will be voted by the
General Assembly,
Unique Coin Plan,
He will propose that a coin the slze |
of a silver dollar, with Georgia adver
tising on each side, be used by the
commission and distributed to vari
ous committees for sale at one dollar
& plece. The coin will represent the
purchaser's individual subscription
receipt towards Georgia's exhibit at
the fair.
The plan of public subscription
through use of the advertising coin
has met with great success in other
States, the commissioner sald, and
he belleves !t will work here to the
same advantage as elsewhere
The exposition will be complete In
every detall at the date of the official
opening, Mr. O'Hara said L
Moore, presjdent of the exposition
company, is urging all States, as well
as foreign countries, to send thelr
exhibits to San Francisco as fast as
possible,
Space Overtaxed.
Over G 0 per cent of the actual space
for exhibits has been asked for at the
exposition, according to the commis
sgioner. and on this account he is here
in Atlanta to secure the Immediate
nctlon of the State In passing an ade
quate appropriation for fts exhibit
Mr. O'Hara is firm in his opinion
that Germany and Great Britain will
be represented officially at the falr
He said that 40 nations had consent
