/-)\ W nwn’-;;;, 79 North Broad Street, Atlanta, Ga.
‘HEARST’SWS_'UND{‘Y_’ AMERICAN, ATLANTA, GA, SUNDAY. JULY 19 1914
The heautifl new store of the W. E. CARTER
ELECTRIC COMPANY in North Broad Street is a
revelation and an innovation in plan and originality, in
its unique arrangement for the display of its extensive
lines of ELECTRICAL Lighting Fixtures and Goods.
The new store is the largest of its character in At
lanta, probably in the entire South. The company oc
cupies the entire four story and basement building at
No. 72 North Broad Street, giving it a floor space of
very nearly 50,000 square feet.
The entire building, inside and out, has been remod
eled and renovated. The facade of the building
{s illuminated with outlines of closely installed bulbs
its entire height and width. The scheme of operation
of these lights at night is unique and new in Atlanta,
and is attracting a great deal of enthusiastic attention.
The window displays are a matter of elegant sim
plicity and rare good taste in centering the eye on very
choice lamps and fixtures, and are the recipients of
many ‘‘Ahs’’ and Ohs’’ of the passersby at night.
The main floor i{s distinctively elegant in its ar
rangement, and irresistibly inviting in its attractive
ness. ‘
Pendant from the metal ceiling is the display of
ELECTRIC LAMPS and ELECTRICAL FIXTURES,
from the simplest designs to the most elaborate and
costly Domes and Chandeliers. The lamps are all wired,
and when the gorgeous display is lighted the colorful
effects bring to mind the fictions of Aladdin’s palace.
On this floor also are lines of showcases displaying
small electrical fixtures, appliances and accessories, be
sides a'complete line of ELECTRICAL Household Util-
fties to minimize lahor and relieve domestic duties of
their irks and cares. Electrical Irons, Heaters, etc.
On the main floor are located the offices of the com
pany, convenient for the transaction of all business.
On the second floor ladies’ reception rendezvous has
been handsomely fitted up, where practical demonstra
tions are made of the various electrical appliances used
in the home. L
The third and fourth floors are used as storerooms
for the extensive reserve stocks, and also for a com
pletely equipped repair department and estimating
bureau. The basement is reserved for the heavy stock,
motors and other equipment.
" THE W. E. CARTER ELECTRIC COMPANY lis
prepared to handle the most extensive, complicated and
elaborate commissions, in new buildings or old; in fac
tories, municipal buildings and homes.
The company is composed of men of the highest
ability, long experience and unquestioned integrity.
The W. E. CARTER ELECTRIC COMPANY is
one of the oldest established concerns of its kind in At
lanta, and in its new and extensive quarters, with great
ly increased facilities and augmented stocks, is better
prepared than ever to give the public the best electrical
service possible to secure.
- Interested parties in Atlanta are cordially invited
to call and inspect the new store. The best appreciation
of its possibilities to carry out its contracts can only be
gained by a personal call. Out-of-town contractors and
buyers of electrical supplies are particularly invited to
write for estimates or prices on any need that can be
supplied by a thoroughly equipped electrical house.
