the Druid Hills Golf Cilub Tuesday
evening. ‘The affair was the first of a
eeries of informal dinner-dances
avhich ara to ha held at this club
every Tuesday during the season, and

where hundreds of Japancse lanterns

were placed on the lowar terrace,
where the fountain added its charm
to the picturesque surroundings. Kach

many charming attentions which are
being accorded Miss Helen Brandon,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Jay Brandon, of Upper Montclair, N.
J., who is spending the summer with
her parents at the Hotel Hargrave, in
West Seventy-second street.
Miss Brandon's engagement to
Dudley Yard, of Atlanta, was an
nounced a few weeks ago, and after
her marriage to Mr. Yard, which
takes place at the Hotel' Hargrave,
they will return to Atlanta for per
manent residence,
The Brandons expect to spend the
next few weeks at one of the Long
Island resorts. They are prominent
people who came to Atlanta for a
stay of two months, making their
home at the Ponce DeLeon Apart
