territory for the formation o sald
County of Candler shall be taken from
the counties of Emanuel, Bulioch and
Tattnall, and the said territory so taken
for the formation of said new county
of Candler shall be included within the
' following boundaries, to-wit: 3
Starting at the south of Ten-Mlls
Creek where it empties Into Caroochee
River, running in a northerly direction
up saild river to Excelsior Bridge;
thence in a northerly direction straight
course to Lott's Creek to a point one
%xarter of a mile above New Bridge;
thence along the line of Lott's Creek to
Del.oach’s Pond, leaving Delwach's
Pond running in a northw esterlrz' direc
tion, crossing the Bulloch and Emanuel
county lines, intersecting with the
Swainsboro and Statesboro gubllc road
at D. B. Johnson's place; thence in a
southwesterly direction to Union School
house; thence in a southwesterly direc
| tion to Cowart’s Mill Pond; thence in a
direct line to the Leo Collins crossing
on the Central of Geor?a. Rallroad,
thence in_ & southwesterly course to
Griffin’s Ferry Bridge on the Ohoopes
River (crossing line of Emanuel and
Tattnall Counties), a southerly courss
to the point where tha ecounties ¢f
Emanuel and Tattnall meet on the
Ohoopee River; thence a direct line east,
to Kennedy's firldge on the Carooches
River. That when sald county Is ereot
ed the county seat of the same shall
be the town of Metter, now in the
County of Bulloch: that it the above
and foregoing amendment should be
ratified by the people when the same
is submitted to them for their ratifi
cation at the next general election after

Superfor Court, a sheriff, a tax colleo
tor, a tax recelver, a coroner, a coun
tg‘r surveyor and & county treasurer;
that said officers shall be commissioned
as now required by law, and all laws
now in force in this State to commission
officers and for bonds required of them
shall be applicable to the officers so
elected; that the officers elected at sald
general election shall hold their offices
until the next general election for coun
ty officers and until their successors are
elected and qualified.
The Generai Assembly is hereby giv
en power to create any additional stat
utory officers In sald county or statu
tory courts, and to Kmvlde by law for
filling sald offices. ny vacancies that
may occur before the nexXt general eleo
tion in any of the offices created by
'sald county may be filled as now pro
vided by law.
I The sajd County of Candler shall be
attached to the First Congressifonal Dis
trict, the Middle Judicial Circuit and
‘the Seventeenth Senatorial District, but
it shall be in the power of the General
Assembly at any time to change the ju
dicial circuit to which sald County of
Candler is atached, and the General As
sembly of Georgla is hereby given power
to change sald County of Candler in ar
ranging Congressional and Senatorial
districts as is now provided by law.
That the Superior Court in sald County
of Candler shall be held on the third
Monday in February and August months
of each year, but it shall be within the
power of the General Assembly at any
time by law to charige‘_the tlane og
holding the courts and the number of
terms thereof. That the justices of the
peace and constables residing in the ter
ritory included within the new CountX
of Candler shall exercise the duties an
?owers of their office until new mili
ia districts are laid out in said County
of Candler as now provided by law; and
that all of the provisions of the law as
contained in Chapter 13 of the Code of
1910 are hereby made applicable to the
sald County of Candler whenever the
same I 3 created; that all of the general
laws in this State, in addition to the
above, having apglicution to the statu
tory counties of this Btate, are hereby
made applicable to the said County of
Candler, especlally the law in refer
ence to holding elections for the pur
pose of creating a debt for sald coun
ty; that when this amendment {s adopt
ed, the sald Ccunty of Candler so
created by the adoption of this amend
ment shall become in all respects a
statutory county and shall be governed
by all laws now In force in this State
regulutlng counties and county officers.
ec., 2. The Governor 18 hereby re
quired and directed that when this pro
foaed amendment shall be agreed to by
wo-thirds of the members elected by
the two houses of this General Assem
bly, and shall be entered on the journal
of each house with the ayes and na

ment shall become a part of the Consti
tution of Georgia when the fact is cer
tified to the Governor by the Becretary
of State, that a majority of the quall
fled voters voting at sald general elec
tion have voted in favor of the adop
tion of saild amendment to the ConatY
tution of the State, and the Governor
