Thirst of Pupils at
Hieghts Will Be Unquenched
Unless Water Main Is Laid.
With the view of averting a possible
water famine, which is said to threat
en the 500 pupils in the Lakewood
Heights county public school, the
County Board of Education Friday
Our Fish

This is the season
when the big Fish

the big Fish are as
good as the smaller
ones.

Variety for
Every Taste
There is variety here
for every taste. You
will have no trouble
in finding the sea
food you want.
Among them are
Shrimp, Crabs, Lob

Mackerel, Trout,
Snapper, in fact al
most anything you
might think of.
Lake Salmon, the dainti
est of frying ftatt, are in
now. Come and have a
look.
President K. M. Horlne, by direc
tion of the board, planned to take up
the matter with the city at the earliest
possible moment and urge the exten
sion of the water main as prompt re
lief for the school children.
Many women in the I^akewood
Height* section, mothers of the chil
dren in the school, are taking an ac
tive interest in the situation, and have
■ I j set out to back the School Board and
Lakewood! lid it in ,, V ery way possible in the
I fight to obtain city water.
The hoard's action followed fruit-
: less efforts by the county to strike
water close to the school by digging
1*. The latest endea oi In tM
j direction resulted In a hole 75 feet
deep, but no water. At this depth,
solid rock was struck.
At present the only drinking water
obtainable In the school has to be
hauled there in barrels a considerable
distance. With the opening of spring
tnis water becomes warm before it
even reaches the schoolhouse and is
said to be unfit to drink. Most of the
children, it is said, are unable to
drink the water, and, as a result, have
to remain throughout the school ses
sion with their thirst unquenched.
The Boacd of Education figured that
as the weather grows warmer this
thirst will increase, and that some
thing must be done and at once to
relieve the situation.
The members feel satisfied that lit
tle difficulty will be experienced In in
ducing the city to furnish this relief,
for the reason that a main i* to be
extended to Lakewood in time for the
opening of the Southeastern Fair. It
is the purpose of the board to ask
the city to name Lakewood avenue
[as the route for this extension, in or
der that it may pass the laikewood
Heights school and to seek to have
the work done immediately.

Girls—if you want plenty of thick,
beautiful, glossy, silky hair, do by all
means get rid of dandruff, for it will
starve your hair and ruin it if you
don’t.
It doesn’t do much good to try to
brush or wash it out. The only sure
way to get rid of dandruff is to dis
solve it, then you destroy it entirely.
To do this, get about four ounces of
ordinary liquid arvon, apply it at
night when retiring; use enough to
moisten the scalp and rub it in gently
with the finger tips.
By morning, most if not all, of your
dandruff will be gone, and three or
four more applications will complete
ly dissolve and entirely dqptroy every
single sign and trace of It.
You will find, too, that all itching
and digging of the scalp will stop, and
your hair will look and feel a hun
dred times better. You can get liquid
arvon at any drug store. It is inex
pensive and four ounces is all you
will need, no matter how much dan
druff you have. This simple remedy
never fails.—Advertisement.

Shoe World Puzzled
The spring models of Hanovers are so distinctive in style and
such extraordinary value that they have astonished the shoe world.
Everybody is discussing them. Shoe-wise people knowing Hanovers
are “all meat” can't understand how we can make such a shoe for
$3.00- and $3.50. Nothing anywhere near it in. value has ever been
produced.
Here's the explanation. We do many things differently from
accepted methods. For instance, we sell exclusively to the con
sumer—no other shoe manufacturer does that; we buy in enormous
quantities and always make cash discounts; our factory is operated
incessantly and at continually increasing capacity and thereby very
economically; we turn our money rapidly and are satisfied with a
modest profit. -
Now for the moral. You’ve known Hanovers long enough to
try a pair. You really can’t afford to pass them up any longer.
What'g the use in paying a dollar or two more for a shoe that’s no
better? Get a pair to-day and be shoe happy.
