Many women In the' Lakewood
Height* Mttlon, mothers of the chil
dren in the school, are taking an na
tive interest In the situation, and have
set out to hack the School Board and
aid It in every way pOHSlhle in the
fight to obtain city water.
The board's action followed fruit
less efforts by the county to strike
water close to the school by digging
of wells. The latest endeavor In this
direction resulted in a hole 76 feet
deep, hut no water At this depth,
solid rock was struck.
At present the only drinking water
obtainable in the school has to be
hauled there in barrels a considerable
distance. With the opening of spring
this water becomes warm before it
even reaches the schoolhouse and Is
said to be unfit to drink. Most of the
ch Idren, It is said, are unable to
drink the water, and, as a result, have
to remain throughout the school ses
sion with their thirst unquenched.
The ftoard of Education figured that
as the weather grows warmer this
thirst will Increase, and that some
thing must be done and at once to
relieve the situation.
The members feel satisfied that lit
tle difficulty will be experienced in In
ducing the city to furnish this relief,
for the reason that a main is to he

majority in Council against him on
the proposition will cause Mayor

Girls—if you want plenty of thick,
beautiful, glossy, silky hair, do by all
means get rid of dandruff, for it will
starve your hair and ruin it if you
don’t.
It doesn’t do much good to try to
brush or wash it out. The, only sure
way to get rid of dandruff is to dis
solve it, then you destroy it entirely.
To do this, got about four ounces of
ordinary liquid arvon, apply it at
night when retiring: use enough to
moisten the scalp and rub it in gently
with the finger tips.
By morning, most if not all, of your
dandruff will be gone, and three or
four more applications will complete
ly dissolve and entirely destroy every
single sign and trace of it.
You will find. too. that all itching
and digging of the scalp will stop, and
your hair will look and feel a hun
dred times better. You can get liquid
arvon at any drug store. It is inex
pensive and four ounces is all you
will need, no matter hpw much dan
druff you have. This simple remedy
never falls.—Advertisement

Hanover Shoe
Shoe World Puzzled
The spring models of Hanovers are so distinctive In style and
such extraordinary value that they have astonished the shoe world.
Everybody is discussing them. Shoe-wise people knowing Hanovers
are “all meat” can’t understand how we can make such a shoe for
$3.00 and $3.50. Nothing anywhere near it in value has ever been
produced.
Here's the explanation. We do many things differently from
accepted methods. For Instance, we sell exclusively to the con
sumer—no other shoe manufacturer does that; we buy in enormous
quantities and always make cash discounts; our~factovy is operated
incessantly and at continually increasing capacity and thereby very
economically; we turn our money rapidly and are satisfied with a
modest profit.
Now for the moral. You’ve known Hanovers long enough to
try a pair. You really can’t afford to pass them up any longqr.
What's the use in paying a dollar or two more for a shoe that’s no
better? Get a pair to-day and be shoe happy.
