LIBERTY BELL TO SPEND
Ruins of Store Wrecked
In Fatal Birmingham Crash
| By International Maw* Servloa. 1
PHILADELPHIA April 22—Old
Liberty Bell, the most secret] relit - of
American independent e. will probably
arrive In San Francisco In time to be
made the chief attraction at the great
Fourth of July celebration planned by
the exposition authorities.
This will be the second diatinct
achievement of William Randolph
Hearst. through his Eastern news
papers. First, the Mayor and Coun
cil of Philadelphia were induced to
agree, in the face of great opposition,
that the bell be removed again from
the cradle of liberty—old Independ
ence Hall. It was not believed tnen
that the trip could be undertaken un
til after the Fourth of July, due to
plans for festivities here on that date.
Now the authorities practically have
consented that the patriotic pilgrim
age across the continent shall begin
the latter part of June. and. allowing
ten day* for the trip, reach San Fran
cisco probably by July 2 or 3.
Escort of Honor Planned.
The work of framing the official
committee is now under way. and will
he completed ,bv the first of next
week There Will be 24 members of
the official delegation. 1? from the
Select Council and an equal number
from the Common Council. Mayor
RUnkenburg and his family will head
this tofcfty from Philadelphia.
' The present plans included the sug
gestion for an honorary committee to
consist of a distinguished represen
tative from each of the thirteen origi
nal States
Such an escort of official and qua si-
official components, it Is believed, will
make the trip one of great national
significance and arouse a spirit of
wholesome patriotism with the rising
generations that could not be accom
plished in any other wa.'
Cities Vie for Relic.
Interest in the Journev of the bell
is manifestly nation-wide. From
North, South and West <ame tele
grams to-dav asking Mayor Rlanken-
burg to do what he could to have th*‘
treasured relic stop at half a hundred
cities.
A trace line of the territory it would
be necessary for the bell to cover if
one-third of the requests were con
sidered would have the appearance of
a railroad map gone crazy or would
make its routing look like the thread
ing of the storied (Teton maze
Secretary of State Bryan prompted
by the people of Nebraska, has sent a
lengthy telegram asking that a stop
be made at Lincoln. Another city
bases its claim on the fact that its
original settlers were from Pennsyl
vania.
Some of the requests came from the
following:
Atlanta, Gainesville. Oa.. Governor
Moorehead of Nebraska; Daughters
of the Revolution of Milwaukee. Wis..
Newton Asociation of Newton, La.;
Davenport. Iowa; Denver; Knoxville;
Birmingham. Indianapolis; t’olfax,
Iowa; Des Moines; Kansas City;

Try Grandmother’s Old Favorite
Recipe of Sage Tea and
Sulphur.
Almost everyone knows that Sage
Tea and Sulphur, properly compound
ed, brings back the natural color and
luster to the hair when faded, streak
ed or gray; also ends dandruff. Itch
ing soalp and stops falling hair. Years
ago the only way to get this mixture
was to make it at home, which is
musev and troublesome Nowadays,
by asking at any drug store for "Wy
eth's Rage and Sulphur Compound"
you will get a large bottle of this fa
mous old recipe for about 50 cents.
Don’t stay gray! Try it! No one
can possibly tell that you darkened
your hair, as it does it so naturally
and evenly. You dampen a sponge or
soft brush with It and draw this
through your hair, taking one small
strand at a time by morning the gray
hair disappears, and after another ap
plication or two your hair becomes
beautifully dark, thick and glossy.—

Donehoo Threatened By Ring
People Rally to His Support
Paul Donehoo's exposure of the slate-making methods,
which seek to control the fat public offices of Fulton County,
has angered and alarmed the ring' politicians.
A man with courage enough to tell the public the truth
and to call attention to the tremendous profits derived from
dead men’s estates is considered politically too dangerous a
man tc let live.
So the ring is not only planning to defeat Donehoo as
Ordinary at this time, but they have also picked a candidate
to run against him as Coroner a year from now.
Being unable to control Donehoo, the politicians who are
running Mr. Jeffries now openly threaten to destroy Done
hoo.
Donehoo refuses to be either bluffed or scared out of the
race for Ordinary, and this latest threat by the ring poli
ticians assures his election on the thirtieth of April,
