B AINBROGE, May 29.—-A marriage
of wide Interest was that of Miss
Onis Willis and Abe Conger,
which took place Wednesday evening at
the Presbyterian Church. The attend
ants were Miss Alice Powell, maid of

Miss Ruth Holder, Miss Lula May Mor-
gran, bridesmaids; Henry Tift, of 8ifton;

The bride entered with her ctster, Mrs.
J, E. Ward. After the ceremony a re-

Wade was hostess to the Ladies’
Society of the M. E. Church at her
home Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Eugene
Jackson and Mrs. Selby Benton gave
their reports of the district meeting at
Comer. A duet was sung by Mrs. Harry’
Nabsted and Mrs. Max Miller. Refresh
ments were served by Mesdames Nab
sted, Wade. Haddon and Benton.
On Saturday a picnic was given by
the Sunday school of the Methodist
Church at Demorest Lake.
A fishing party went to Chattahoochee
River Friday evening. The party was
composed of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith,
Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Griffith. Miss Irene
Hunt and Henry Brewer and Mr. and
Mrs. Amos King.
Commencement exterclses were held
last week at Cornelia High School. Ten
students received diplomas. They’ were

with the public schools for the last
year, leaves for her home in Jackson

ta. will leave Atlanta Monday with Gen
eral Mell C. Martin, commanding the
North Georgia Brigade, and his staff, to
attend the Confederate reunion at Rich
mond. Miss Moore goes as sponsor, and
Misses Hamilton and Perdue as maids
of honor for the brigade. Mrs. Ethel
Hiles Moorman is to be matron of honor.
Miss Moore will go to Baltimore after
the reunion to attend commencement at
Johns Hopkins Miss Perdue will visit
her cousin, Mrs. Daniel Ruden, in Nor
folk. and be a guest at commencement
at the University of Virginia at Char
lottesville. Miss Hamilton will visit in
Washington before returning.
Miss Margaret Hamilton gave a
luncheon Tuesday at 1 o’clock in honor
of Miss Emily Dixon, of Birmingham.

tady, of Birmingham; Miss Addle
Wright, Miss Bessie A. Moore and Miss
Louise Moultrie.

kins and Jack Charlton, of Live Oak
Fla., on June 1. Miss Hopkins Is the

kins, and Is a popular society girl. Mr.
Charlton is a member of the prominent
family of that name in Savannah.
