Whitney Will Follow Path of Other Great Light
welghts Who Have Met Me, Declares Welsh.
Champion of the World
K WHITNEY will follow the same path of other great
lightweights that have tried to take the title away from me,
I will feel Whitney out the first couple of rounds, after which
T will know just bow to handle him.
I am not underrating Whitney in the least. Any boy who ean
stop Ad Wolgast must be good. However, Frank bas a different
task on his hands to-night, and he will find it out to his sorrow
belmwenniathorh.vayhu.
Boxinms in Atlanta and elsewhere can rest assured that
the champ ip is not going to change hands to-night. 1 will
whip Whitney decisively and retain my title.

Georgian-American Experts

To Give Verdict in Title Go
RANK WHITNEY, the South's greatest lightweight, and
F now a resident of Atlanta, Ga., will meet Freddie Welsh
for the lightweight championship of the world at the
Casino Skating Rink on Saturday night.
Welsh and Whitney have agreed that should the bout go ten
rounds, the referee will not he empowered to give a decision
either way, but newspaper men present can give their verdiot.
The Georgian-American will be represented at the ringside
by two of the most able boxing critics in the country in Harry
Lewis, sporting editor of The Georgian-American, and Fuzzy
Woodruff, the famous scribe and referee.
These two experts will keep a close tab on the rounds, and
at the close of the battle they will flash their verdict to the read
ers of The Sunday American, and this decision is sure to be the
correct one. - '
If you want to get the best story of the battle, the blow-by
blow description of the bout, and the statements by the rival
boxers and their managers, then be sure to read Sunday’s
American. .
