sage-sending test Friday night, re
ported Saturday only partial success
in eatching New Year's greetings sent
out from Davenport, lowa. 1o all cor
ners of the United States. Atmos
pheric conditions here were blamed
for the fallure to get the full intelll
gence of the message.
Allan Whittaker, of No. 221 West
Tenth street, who, with Malcolm Tusre
ner, of Fourteenth sireet and Pied
mont avenue, operated the wireless
outfit at the home of young Whittas
ker, sald Saturday that he got many
words of the message, but could not
g*t enough to decipher it. He heard
distinctly at various times from 9 to
11: 3 m. stations In llinols, Ohln,
New #‘ufi State, California and la‘er
Florida. After the conclusion of the
test, he could hear distinctly mes
sages from ships off Tampa, Flia. to
wst stations and from vessel to vee
