- Unique— unusual--out of the ordi
nary—these adjectives have often
been applied to hotels and resorts, but
never with more justification than in
connection with ga description of
Grove Park Inn at Asheville, North
Carolina.
E. W. Grove, of St. Louis, made the
Inn possible, It was built in the old
fashioned way-—full of rest, comfort
and wholesomeness, From its porches
one looks across a broad green field,
4 one hundred and eighty-acre, eight
een-hole golf course, into a vista of
lofty peaks and forests,
The inn is designed upon plain and
solid lines, and is constructed for
safety, comfort and utility. It is ab
solutely fireproof. Al attempts at
the bizarre, the tawdry and J,wahny
foolish have been omitted. The fur
nishings and equipment were installed
with the same view. The plan was
to build a big home where every mod
€rn convenience could be had, with
all the old-fashioned qualities of gen
uineness, but no sham. Things made
by nature, assisted by artists, carry
sentiment. The product of the head,
the heart and the hand Is a thing to
be loved. This makes the Inn a re
sort home and not a transient hote!
On Mountain Side,
Grove Park Inn is located on the
side of Sunset Mountain, about a
miie from the top. The climate is cool
enough in summer to make a blanket
comfortable at night, and mild enough
in winter to make life enjoyvable with.
out enervation. The climate of Asghe.-
ville is the climate of Grove Park Inn
wholesome and invigorating. The
altitude forbids humidity even on the
Warmest summer days. Those who
seek to escape the w intry blasts of the
North throng to Asheville.

Pinehurst, Tourist

Golf Metropolis
Pinehurst, N. €, is one of the most
famous tourist villages in the South,
It draws many of the very best class
of winter vacationists because of 'ts
four excellent hotels and its salubri

seven miles wide with an elevation
above the sea of from 600 to 900 feet.
The great pine trees which surround
it exhale a balsamic odor which phy
siclans declare one of nature’s best
tonics.
The invitation to outdoor life is ever
extended by the climate and atmos

In the beautiful Sarasota Bay, where you can bathe in the waters of the
Gulf of Mexico, hunt, fish, motor and enjoy life the whole year round.
Siesta on the Gulf is the most desirable location in Florida for either a winter or summer home.
It is located two and one-half miles across the beautiful Sarasota Bay from the growing and -
ous city of Sarasota. It takes only 20 minutes to run from Sarasota to Siesta on a ferry. lm' i a
beautiful water trip to make, for you see the surrounding keys: the cresent shape of the mainland
and the beautiful boulevard and bayshore homes: the magnifcent palace home of Mr. T. M. Wor
chester; and enjoy the soft, gentle lull of the waves of the beautiful bay
Siesta is a high-class town site and is being largely developed along lines that appeal to the “well
to-do” who wish to leave the snows of the Northern winter and get down here for five or six months
ol continuous good weather for fishing, bathing golfing and other outdoor sports. The business man
can also leave his cares for a few months and enjoy the same privileges. It is a subdivision platted
and planned for the home-seeker—the one who wishes to spend the whole year here
In the winter one enjoys the mild climate which is not known in the North until April, and
oftentimes June. There are very few days during the entire winter months that you can not run
around in your motor boat in your shirt sleeves and be comfortable. In the summer we have a cool,
refreshing breeze from the Gulf every day, and at night a light « overing is needed before the day dawns.
Your coal bill alone will pay for a season of comfort
and ease on this the most beautiful bay in the world.
