urgent invitation came from across
the sea, and the Atlanta visit was
postponed in favor of a house party
given by the C‘omtess de Sombreul,
in her wonderful home at Versailles,
in honor of Master Joseph.Gatinsg, Jr.,
the first grandson of the Countess.
Master Gatins, whose mother was
the bewitching little French Countess
many of us had the pleasure of meet
ing as the bride of our former “fellow
townsman® “Joe” Gatins a year or so
ago, was born on French soil, and has
not yvet seen the U. S, A. However. |
am sure he is a sturdy little Ameri
can, for all that. "
Mr. and Mrs. Gatins went abroad
before the birth of thelr young son,
and will remain in Paris for some
time yet. The house party at Ver
‘salllnn was destined to be a reunion of
‘the FPrench kinfolk of Master Gannn.‘
and to be included in the number of
guests were several of the sons
of the Comtesse de Sombreull
who had been “at the [ront,” doing
their part for France. Mrs, Rily sailed
on the Lafavette several weeks ago
