Bix days shalt thou frivol and

Boston Girl Has Pronounced
Views on Action of the
Younger Set.
BOSTON, Jan. I.—The giel who
has never been kissed! She's right
here, in Somerville—and she is a
beauty, to. Her name? Miss Ina
Caldwell, and she's the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. BEdward H. Caldwell, of
Bromfield road.
Picture a dimpled face, rose com
plexion, zipping black eyes, all sur
mounted by a wealth of rippling
brown hair, and you have Miss Cald
well. She wears, too—the truth must
be told—a beauty spot just below her
left eye, ’
“Then why has she never been
kissed ?” is a perfectly justifiable ques
tion. The anewer is simple. It is be
cause she has figured it all out philo
sophically—applied good common
sense, to use her own words,
Just listen to Miss Caldwell herself
for a moment:
“The entire younger set of to-day is
cheapened by kissing,” she says. “Nine
men out of every ten expect to be
granted a kiss on first acquaintance,
and nine girls out of ten live up to
‘expectatione. And, what is more,
these nine girls are the ones who find
it hard to get a husband. It is the
girl who holds herself aloof who is
the most sought atfer. A chap may
like to take 4 girl of the other sort to
the dance or theater, but he seldom
chooses her for his wife.
“In short, if girls want to be mar
ried, they showldn't permit any man
to kiss them until they are engaged.
“Few persons realize how sacred a
kiss is. Just stop to analyze how in
timate a kiss is—what it stands for,
Btrange as it may seem, I seldom kiss
even my mother. About once in a
year we kiss, and that is only when I
am leaving home for an extended
stay. If only for sanitary reasons,
people should refrain from kissing as
frequently as they do
“1 have good, sound reasons for not
ever having permitted a man to Xiss
me. 1 shall never do so until lam
engaged, and I am sure I shall never
become engaged for the ‘fun of it' |
shall become engaged to but one man.”
