Mother Gives Skin
to Save Baby's Life
SALINA, KANB., Jan. 15.~That her
14-month-old child might live, though
bad'y scarred and disfigured, Mrs. Eras
tus Keys has given up thirty square
inches of skin to be grafted to the face,
neck and chest of her baby.
Little Paul pulled a kettle of boiling
tea off the table, spilling the scalding
liquid over his face, chest and abdo
men and burning him so seriously phy
sictans abandoned hope of his recovery.
It was decided he might recover through
a skin-grafting operation. In a last ef
fort the mother begged and pleaded she
be allowed to give her child this last
chance for life and physicians yielded.
Mrs. Keys underwent one of the larg
est and most painful skin grafting op
erations ever attempted. The child now
has an excellent chance of recovery. -

A Hint to Mothers
of Growing Children
A Mild Laxative at Regular
Intervals Will Prevent
\ Constipation.
A vital point upon which all schools
n{) medicine seem to agree is that
normal regularity of the boweis is an
essential to good health. The impor
tance of this is impressed particularly
on mothers of growing children.
A very valuable remedy that should
be kept in every home for use as oc
casion arises is Dr. Caldwell's Syrup
Pepsin, a compound of simple laxai
tive herbs that has been prescribed
by Dr. W. B. Caldwell, of Monticello,
111, for more than twenty-five years,
and which can now be obtained in
any well-stocked drug store for fifty
cents a bottle. .
In a recent letter to Dr. Caldwell,
Mrs. H. C. Turner, 844 Main St., Buf
falo, N. Y., says: “I bought a bottle of
Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin for my
baby, Roland Lee Turner, and find :*
works just like you said it would. 't
is fine for the stomach and bowels.”
A bottle of Dr. Caldwell's Syrup
Pepsin should be in every home. A
